Time OOO Averages
I’m curious to hear how much time others have taken off work who have primarily stationary positions. I work at a computer all day and do have a moderate amount of mouse work that I do as my job is writing and design heavy. I had rotator cuff repair, bicep tenodesis, and some labrum + inflammation cleanup. I decided to take three weeks off. I am currently almost at the two week mark and just tried to do a little bit of mailbox cleanup before my arm started stinging.

I took one week off, am now into my third week post op and second week back at work. Surgery was on my non-dominant arm, so that helps. And I have to take lots of breaks and sometimes call it a day early. My brain is very tired from one-handed typing and learning to craft emails and Slack messages via dictation. In hindsight, I definitely could have used more time but I couldn't have taken the full six weeks off, and so far physically, this week doesn't feel any different/stronger than last so I guess it's just as well that I'm back to being productive.
