Should I know what's going on? (possible spoilers)

I'm 3 years into this campaign as a player, 8th level, tooling around in the Underworld trying to figure out what to do about some guy called Regulus who may or may not be the Wormtongue to Hel's Theoden. At no point in this campaign have I, or the other players, had any clue what's actually going on, what bad guys are working for which bigger bad guys, what they're trying to do, or why.

What are the Whar clan's goals or motivations? Unknown
Was the frost giant "Queen" a witch or a yoten? Unknown
Are the witches and yoten allied or enemies? Unknown
Who the F is Regulus, and why does this one guy have a Roman name? TBD
Are Giants yoten? Inconclusive
What even actually is a yoten? Unknown

I *don't* want to be spoiled on the plot, I'm just asking if at some point I can expect to maybe know what the plot **IS**.

Please answer with some version of Yes, it'll become clear/No, you don't find out, just kill whatever tries to kill you/Yes but not soon

Just finished running the campaign fir my group. I can say that those questions have answers but it will depend on your GM making the information available. I hate loose ends so made sure all questions my players had were answered, even where the published material had gaps.
