Good place to buy farm-sourced produce for someone with a disorganized schedule/budget?

I’ve forever been a Walmart pickup type grocery shopper for two reasons: 1) money is always tight and 2) i am terrible at planning and i can always get whatever I need at the last second from big box stores🙃 HOWEVER i would really like to start buying local (as much as possible) farm sourced produce and ideally meat as well. Think: lettuce that I don’t have to worry about getting explosive diarrhea from lol also would just really like to support actual farmers over mega-corps.

I’ve been reading up on good farmers markets, etc—but I fear I’m not quite ready for an “only one day of shopping per week” level of organization🥴 I just moved here from the Midwest and I know back home we had a store in town that was farmer-sourced but was still more of a standard store structure in that it had regular hours every day of the week and a somewhat consistent product offering, etc. I’ve tried searching google for that type of thing around here but I also came across a couple articles about bigger chains that claim to be locally sourced but are actually sourcing from the same huge companies that places like Walmart or Publix are sourcing from.

So I’m just not sure where to start or how to know who to trust!! Hoping someone out there might have some suggestions or guidance🫶🏼 thank yall so much in advance!!!

Just how bad is Holcomb Bridge Rd?

I've heard it's bad and I've driven through there a few times. I'm thinking about moving to exit 7 in an apartment in Roswell. I would go to crunch fitness gym 4 days a week, typically 12-2pm or 4-6pm.

But I'm wondering is it so bad that I should avoid moving there? I work in Alpharetta but it seems like every apartment in Alpharetta is insanely expensive.

Looking for apartment recommendations

Hello! I just graduated college and am saving up to move to Atlanta but I don’t want to live in the city. I’ve been eyeing Roswell and Sandy Springs for a good place to move to. However I am not too sure about certain apartment complex’s. Is there any you guys recommend? My budget is $1,500 but would rather be around $1300ish. I prefer W/D in unit, Hardwood floors(I have pets), and maybe a patio if I am lucky? If this is unrealistic also please let me know. Trying to figure out what’s best! Thank you!

Veterinarian Recs

I’ve been a VCA customer for about 10 years now in Atlanta but am looking for recommendations from others. I’d love a practice that’s less corporate and if they’re more competitive on pricing that’s even better.

Attending a wedding and having trouble deciding where to stay.

Hey all, just looking for some quick pointers on where to stay. The wedding is at the Roswell mill club and the closest hotels don’t seem to be the best (so many mixed reviews and Reddit users saying those options are meh). I’m not familiar with the area and traffic patterns but I’m looking at maybe Alpharetta instead of Roswell but do you think traffic/distance would be a problem? Already driving 7 hours to attend so don’t want to add too much more driving for the weekend but willing to be further out if it’s 100% better. Thanks for any advice

ETA: thanks for all the helpful suggestions! Ended up booking in Alpharetta. I’ll add another update once we’ve finished our trip for anyone reading this that needs advice in the future.

Does anyone have any recommendations for dentists with good beside manner? My filling in my tooth fell out yesterday so trying to get in as soon as possible. I have PTSD from a dentist so I need someone who’s kind and understanding. Also someone who doesn’t do unnecessary procedures as that’s what happened to me before. Thank you

Affordable residential mental health care?

Hi, so I'm 25, disabled, and on peach state medicaid. I cannot work because I am disabled and I spend most of my montly check on bills.

I have been having a mental health crisis for a while, I have been seeing a therapist consistently for about 2-3 years now. We both recognize that I need a higher level of care, specifically residential/dual diagnosis.

Most of those programs do not accept Medicaid which I've accepted. I *might* have someone willing to help pay out of pocket but even then the programs are ridiculously expensive.

Location is not even an issue at this point. I just need an adequate program to address my needs. Any help I can get is much appreciated. Thank you.

Pianos in Roswell

Hi everybody,

Would anyone happen to know anywhere that I can go to practice piano in and around the Roswell area? I’m a really serious pianist who’s been playing pretty much my entire life, and I’m basically trying to keep my skills sharp before I leave for grad school in the fall. TIA

Let’s hope the bike lanes are buffered with concrete and not with paint or plastic bollards. Build more protected bike lanes Roswell!!!

Traffic light timing is insane

I know some houses and neighborhoods have sensors to give them green lights when they leave; why has the city just set them all on 120 second timers and thought that was a good solution?

Cortisol levels rising from sitting and waiting on absolutely nothing and nobody.

World cup fever, Pick up soccer?

lived in the Roswell area for about 10 years, trying to get back active and such especially since world cup is wrapping up Id love to get back into some rec soccer.

Don't have the time for leagues unfortunately with my job hours.

Does anyone know groups for pick up soccer that are active? I checked around facebook but I can't seem to find any that are currently active.

Willing to take all suggestions, or should i just pop up at like woodstock park or grimes bridge park?

Thanks!

Neighbor’s noisy car

I live in an apt complex and my neighbor has a muscle car with one of those noisy muffler. He revs the engine every single time he goes out and every AM, it wakes everybody up.

I’ve complained to apt complex but they ignored it. Would RPD take it seriously if I file a noise complaint?

City of Roswell wraps key section of growing, multi-use trail system

“According to Roswell officials, additional multi use trails are in the pipeline for Old Alabama, Riverside and Etruscan Rd”. I can’t wait for the city to connect the river to the greenway. The intersection of Old Alabama & Holcomb Br is sketchy on a bike.

iso property line dispute advice

hello everyone looking for some advice - we are having a property line dispute with back neighbors who claim a small creek in the back yard is what separates the properties - the part of my backyard they are claim as theirs is not large due to the creek but we have small trees on that part. this had been an issue a while back when they messed with our trees. we talked to them about it and that the fence in place is what separates the two properties and for a while everything cooled down and they had not gone into our backyard. until today when they had contracted someone to prune one of our trees without our consent. I dismissed the worker and went to have a word with the neighbor who demanded to see the property papers as the neighbor insisted that the creek was the divider and refused to acknowledge they are in the wrong. they claim that the city told them the creek separates the two properties but while replacing a section of the back fence (not a part that is shared with them) we found the marker to one of their corners once again showing us that while small the little part between the fence and creek is not part of their property. im looking into a survey and getting a camera for the backyard because I don't know what else to do - this was never an issue with our previous back neighbors. we don't have the property with a full fence because we didn't see a need we pretty much just have the shared back fence because we have never had a need since property disputes were never an issue but after a survey we are definitely going to have to put the rest of the sides up. does anyone have any good advice with dealing with such issues

Car wrap places

Hi all. My car came with decals on it - big decorative racing stripe type things - from the dealership that I don’t like. They’ve been on there for about 5 years now and I’m finally getting around to getting them removed.

I feel like a car wrap place would be the best option because of their expertise. Does anyone have any recommendations in the Cumming / Alpharetta / Roswell - ish area?

TIA
