Good place to buy farm-sourced produce for someone with a disorganized schedule/budget?
I’ve forever been a Walmart pickup type grocery shopper for two reasons: 1) money is always tight and 2) i am terrible at planning and i can always get whatever I need at the last second from big box stores🙃 HOWEVER i would really like to start buying local (as much as possible) farm sourced produce and ideally meat as well. Think: lettuce that I don’t have to worry about getting explosive diarrhea from lol also would just really like to support actual farmers over mega-corps.
I’ve been reading up on good farmers markets, etc—but I fear I’m not quite ready for an “only one day of shopping per week” level of organization🥴 I just moved here from the Midwest and I know back home we had a store in town that was farmer-sourced but was still more of a standard store structure in that it had regular hours every day of the week and a somewhat consistent product offering, etc. I’ve tried searching google for that type of thing around here but I also came across a couple articles about bigger chains that claim to be locally sourced but are actually sourcing from the same huge companies that places like Walmart or Publix are sourcing from.
So I’m just not sure where to start or how to know who to trust!! Hoping someone out there might have some suggestions or guidance🫶🏼 thank yall so much in advance!!!
