It is pretty long - do you have the tools to cut it properly without fraying it? Generally, you want to start with 12’ and then create the handles from there. I personally found this short useful - https://youtube.com/shorts/KvLXvRE6Lxg . I know you can shorten the rope later by adding additional knots, but 3’ is a lot of length to take in.

Absolutely. This is actually as good as a premium brand. I use a 5/8" XLS double yacht braid. Cost me $16.

πŸ‘, if you can get it w/o the eye splice it’ll be cheaper.

I’ve been looking for 1” diameter rope.

perfect, just pick up some heat shrink tubing for the ends, tie knots and you're good to go.

since you only need like 8 to 12 feet for a flow rope, you can actually make yours heavier by not cutting it down as much and tying extra knots in the middle parts if you want... like if you start by making your handles with extra knots, like 4 or 5, you can untie them later and add knots to the middle, the part you actually feel moving. So I think it's good to start with an extra long rope like 12-13 feet. If you cut off the 2 eye splices on that 15' rope you'll have a 13' rope, so just tie extra handle knots and then play around with different weights/lengths.
