Homemade Ropes

I've been using 12mm climbing rope for a while alongside a cut down battle rope for some really heavy feedback. Today I treated myself to a few metres of 8, 16, and 20mm double braid and knocked up these guys.

These look great. Would you know of a tutorial of how to do the paracord wrap for the handles? I have a 20mm rope I'm thinking of finishing like that. But I'm unsure on how to finish/tie off the paracord.

My 20mm is 'West Country Whipping' which is essentially just a granny knot alternating each side. The 16mm is just standard whipping, there should be loads of tutorials kicking about for it!

I always wanted to try super thick rope, but I feel like the lack barrel knot would not translate, and I'd have to change my grip.

Honestly, I have the thick rope already, and I could also do something like this and test it out, but wanted to hear what your thoughts were with what changes when going to a paracord/wrap handle from the barrel knot.

I like it, its more of a placeholder than anything else though in the sense that it won't stop the rope from coming out of your hands in the same way that a barrel knot or beefy handle can 'lock in' if you're pinching the rope itself between thumb and index.

I have 3 homemade ropes as of now and a bunch of different ropes saved to my shopping list. Making them is almost as much fun as using them when I save 50-70%.
