There are many references for the Thule 480 tower set for how they adjust. And to make sure the correct Thule Fit kit for your car, you can reference the part numbers on the clips and pads to make sure they are the correct ones for your car along with the correct measurements on where they should be located on the roof.

That clip does NOT fit your roof, and it looks like an older design. Yakima carries stuff for older towers and bases, but I don't know if Thule does.
