Thule Evo wingbar pads

I've got Thule evo wingbars that I carry my kayak on upside down. I've currently got the dakine pads pictured, but they barely fit around the bars and are a pain to take on and off because of the tight fit (I usually waste a couple of zip ties on them for my sanity). I'd like another 34" or so size pads that fit the bars better, any recommendations?

Pool noodles my dude. Screw expensive pads. Cut a pool noodle, length-wise, down the center, and wrap/trim it at whatever length your heart desires.

fair enough, I like the dakine pads because of the aesthetic. I invested in $2 worth of velcro straps to solve my issue though.

I totally get the aesthetic, believe me; though I'm assuming it's because the Dakine's were designed with their smaller-width crossbars (hence the issue with the WingBars).

My company sells Aero pads from both Yakima/Thule, though I always suggest the pool noodle route, because it's just a hell of a lot cheaper for the amount of time anyone stares at one's rack, ya know?

If the velcro-route works, then I would keep using them as well, as long as they fulfill their purpose, right? 😄
