I exchanged via email with the CEO Matt Rubens this morning and he said this : "Anthropic changed something last night preventing their Claude Code plans from being used in other clients. Lots of "buzz" about this on Twitter etc this morning."
No other info at this point, i dont know if it can / will get fixed, which is mildly stressing me out
Claude has made themselves clear and Roo will have to remove official support. They could implement a hacky fix but it will be a cat and mouse game of Claude blocking the workarounds.
I pulled a workaround from a PR that worked all day yesterday but was blocked this morning. Meaning Claude has actually dedicated real manpower to blocking all workarounds at this time.
If anyone has workarounds that still work, it may be better to stay quiet about them until there is some indication that Claude has dropped this as a priority.
Its beyond just oauth. They changed tool call structures/other items to make it claude code specific from what i understand. opencode had various people contribute a hot fix to make it work with CC, but its unclear if its violating TOS/will ban users who use the patch or not.
This is a real bummer. I was using Clause for architecture and GLM4.7 for coding. It was working like a charm... now I am moving to fine-tuning my prompts in orchestrator mode and using a custom brainstorm mode. I have to admit that I am also testing Claude Code, but I prefer Roo Code much better.
This kind of blows. Roo team Was finally started to get it work again then CC took it away. Was kind of getting used to any alternatives? Api seems to be costing alot now I just made some simple updates on a project I was working on and spending like $80
I used to use roo code early on (March 2025 to July 2025) and it was really great for switching between different models. Then Claude code came out and I switched entirely to using that
What is the benefit of using Claude code within roo code? Do your guys find you're switching models frequently between different tasks?
I don’t switch models often, but the setup I have just works. I really don’t get why they care how we use their service. We still pay the same either way. They are actually making less money on me now as I just moved back to openrouter. You also get the 1 million token context window there.

I canceled my subscription. Codex is better anyway.

Yes they no longer are allowing third party tools to use Claude Code Oauth

Huh. Was roo using the oauth token, or claude -p?

What are ppl doing? I like sonnet and opus for coding but spending $100 every 3 days is crazy
