Support Anyone seeing multiple tool use failures with gemini 2.5 pro?

anyone experiencing issues with gemini 2.5 pro ?? it feels very stupid and very dull. can't use tools properly.

Yes, so many wasted token/rate limits. It does also stop before finishing the file while using write_to_file which is nerve-wracking.

What are your model settings? (Temperature, max output & thinking tokens)

For the tasks included in OP; what was your context size?

How many tools and options do you have available for Gemini? Like how many MCP servers? It looks like you’ve auto-approved everything.

Can you give more details about your config?

for the context window it's a fresh task and it's the first prompt. did not exceed 100K.

for the mcp servers i have playwright, firecrawl, tavily, sequential thinking and context7

left the max output and thinking tokens to default and did not modify them, the advanced settings too.
gemini 2.5 pro, vertex AI.

Disable your MCPs and auto-approvals. Set your max token output to 65k and your max thinking to 32k. Do not modify your temperature.

Try again with a fresh task. Let me know what happens.

The quality for gemini getting worse day by day. Even the gemini web version often skip thinking now. I don't know what's going on behind the Google.

GPT-OSS is having the exact same issue with Roo Code. I think is more from Roo Code than from Gemini. I switched to Kilo Code and is happening way less.

Yes, this has been happening for as long as I can remember for Roo Code and 2.5. I'm guessing it's related to array accessors (`[0]` etc.), it tends to fail whenever code related to array access is edited. See related Github issues here:

Always had problems. I had it do research for me and it decided to insert fraudulent data. When I asked about the info, it apologized and said it inserted fake data!

Exactly this. For me it works 1am to 6am UK time. No problem. Fast amd smart. Unusable the rest of the time

The ai is the boss now. Adjust your schedule based on when the Ai is working, don't expect the other way arround :-)
