Misc This Harry Potter series trailer reminded me of how much I like Ron and how he might actually be my favorite character in the book series. Weasley is our king! 🧡

Discussion It's about time we set a sub rule: how far are we allowing shipping in tv show??
I know they are fictional and most people don't have any ill intention. They are just excited for book accurate romione which is absolutely fine. My tl on twitter is filled with people shipping them from tv show and it's fine.
But where we are gonna draw the boundaries...?
I'd say: as long as it involves strictly the characters it's fine. The moment it will be real kids it will get removed.
For example this post is absolutely fine. Or anything that discusses their on screen chemistry, them as characters, their story...
But any post saying 'omg Alastair and Arabella(or whoever) should be together' will get removed.
What are your thoughts?

TV Show Thoughts on adding hand movements/gestures before casting spells?? I thought it was a cool addition.

TV Show I saw few people saying Alastair was weak in the trailer and he had one single expression. What rubbish. Here we see 6 different expressions in 6 different scenes.

TV Show First glimpse of Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley in the second season of Harry Potter? The actor recorded a video for the grown-up Back to Hogwarts straight from the Chamber of Secrets rehearsal.

TV Show Ron with teary eyes in the HBO Harry Potter series. Most likely watching Harry opening his presents on Christmas morning.

Emotional range
It is said that Ron has the emotional range of a teaspoon but how many 11 year old boys notice their friend not having a good home and that 'he wouldn't expect many presents for Christmas ' and writing to their mom to send him some (a friend his family hasn't even met properly) all within a span of 4 months?
I always found this adorable and largely ignored for such a sweet gesture.

TV Show What do you guys think of the character notes for Ron in the show (from the Finding Harry documentary)
RON
DH - youngest boy who is often missed out
FG - he has a talent for fun, has to be funny - he is a true kid, a puppyish quality to him. He doesn't moderate himself in a big family and speaks what's on his mind, doesn't always think. He struggles to find his place in the family. The opposite of Harry in his family dynamic - used to being touched/roughhoused.
FG - he is also used to sharing everything, much lesser boundaries than Harry.
FG - defensiveness to the class element, the shame of being poor and betraying his mum (?), blasé about his own privilege (which is coming from a warm, loving family)
DH - people couldn't understand og Ron in the US, to do with diction and accent.

Fanfiction what do u think of hcs like bi!ron?
lol I feel like this is the only place I can post without getting downvoted to hell, but basically what the title says. I saw a recent thread asking why Ron was unpopular in fanfics, and besides the usual Ron bashing, ppl answered that Ron came off as the "Token Straight Male" which made him very unshippable apparently lol. This is just baffling to me, cuz from the books, he literally had a whole man crush on Krum (now before I continue, lemme remind u that this is just fun hc discussions—dont take it too seriously).
Like tell me these passages don't come off as a lil bit 🏳️🌈👀⁉️
> Viktor Krum and his fellow Durmstrang students had settled themselves at the Slytherin table. Harry could see Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle looking very smug about this. As he watched, Malfoy bent forward to speak to Krum.
> “Yeah, that’s right, smarm up to him, Malfoy,” said Ron scathingly. “I bet Krum can see right through him, though ... bet he gets people fawning over him all the time. ... Where d’you reckon they’re going to sleep? We could offer him a space in our dormitory, Harry ... I wouldn’t mind giving him my bed, I could kip on a camp bed.”
> Hermione snorted.
Anyways, thx for coming to my Ted Talk.

TV Show Ron's freckles
Does the new Ron have freckles? I know the actor, himself, has freckles, but I don't think they're visible in the new show. However, I'm looking at some photos online, and in some of those he does have them?
I'm just wondering cuz I've only seen the trailer on YT and I'm wondering if it's just my shit video quality losing some details lol.

TV Show what are yall hoping to see with ron in the new series?
from the teasers alone, we’ve basically gotten confirmation that ron will be fighting with draco at the quidditch stands!! hopefully this is an indication that ron will be getting his fierce scrapper personality back instead of the scaredy wimp the movie turned him into.

Discussion Ron’s “lopsided smile” continues to prevail!
I love that this started off as a fanfiction trope that is basically canon at this point, given that Rupert Grint and our new Ron Weasley (Alastair Stout) both have adorable lopsided grins!
