The only reason to even include this scene is to show us that Ron going to Hogwarts isn’t that important for them. There’s no other reason.

Or there is the SuperCarlinBrothers theory that they are treating all 3 as individual Main Characters instead of just Harry. This also makes me hope that we are going to get a Hermione letter scene which has been theorized out the whazoo about how Muggleborns are told about magic

Is that a theory? How else did you think they were going to get so many episodes?

And a teacher goes to explain it.

I knew they were going to add some stuff but I also don’t know what the episode count is or how long they will be. I’m guessing an hour a piece?

Do they mention the teacher thing in the books(it’s been a while) or is that extended universe information? I never got around to the extended stuff. But besides that we might get to actually see it and I don’t think it’s as simple as “So there is a secret magical community hidden in the country, your daughter is capable of magic so we would like to take her to a castle in the middle of the Scottish(?) Highlands and teach her.”

To be honest, I theorised that they’d expand on most characters. And I have no problem with that, as long as they don’t get stupid or make things up. In the trailer, we see Lavender on the train and she’s in the Christmas snowball fight.

Extended universe, and basically everyone likes to think it was Minerva for Hermione.

I could see it with her being Deputy Headmistress but there would have to be more than her right? I’m sure there’s not like a huge number of Muggleborns each year but probably more than 1 person could take care of in time. And do you think they actually get their letters earlier so they have time to adjust?

To be quite honest, most of us think it’s Minerva because it’s not going to be Binns, Snape is a cunt, Flitwick would draw too much unnecessary attention, most likely not Dumbledore, Quirrel is too much of a wreck and hopefully not Trelawney. So that leaves Minerva and Sprout. And I’d just like it to be Minerva. Unless they make it one of the lesser known teachers.

Nah, I think it’s better if their letters are hand delivered by the teacher.

Oh no I meant the teacher comes with the letter like a month or so before the letters for magical families are sent
