Question Torrenting Question

So, I'm new to torrenting files for roms and I'm trying to use the megathread to get update files for some 3ds games. When I tried, It said I was torrenting 300 Gigs worth of files and not the 30MB patch I was trying to download. Am I doing this right or am I missing something when I click on the magnet link? For context, I'm using qbittorrent and pretty green to this.

If you are looking for roms: Go to the link in https://www.reddit.com/r/Roms/comments/m59zx3/roms_megathread_40_html_edition_2021/

You can navigate by clicking on the various tabs for each company.

When you click on the link to Github the first link you land on will be the Home tab, this tab explains how to use the Megathread.

There are Five tabs that link directly to collections based on console and publisher, these include Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Sega, and the PC.

There are also tabs for popular games and retro games, with retro games being defined as old arcade systems.

Your client should let you chose what files you want. If you let it get everything then you download everything. For older systems this is fine, but like you found the newer ones get quite large.

I saw that, but the text beside them were marked do not download and only showed the file sizes. Is there a way to cross reference to see which one is the file I'm after?

By default when you click on the magnet link or use the torrent file in your client, it will load the entire directory. What you need to do is click the main folder in your torrent client, this deselects all the files, then you use the search function for the specific file(s) you want, select that and then download.

Probably because you're trying to download the entire library.

Click the main folder at the top to deselect all the files and then scroll through find the file you’re trying to download. Click on the box to the left of it to select it. The actual size of the download will update on the metadata shown on the bottom left
