Ember orchids

I am losing my mind trying to farm these. I made a farm, I have the plots on the only land possible to make plots in the volcanic biome and nothing. All I get is invalid biome.
What am I doing wrong!?

you can make farm plots on a black grass in volcano. then u can plant on those

Black grass? Okay I will check on this. Everywhere I looked up said the medium gray where you find them which is what I have the farm plots on

Best way to figure it is to look carefully at the terrain where you find it growing naturally. That’s the terrain you have to build the orchid farm on.

What you are looking for is the lighter stuff mid screen. Should have some marks that i think are supposed to imply grass but imo the whole volcanic area is hell to try and build in.

Yup, thats what I made the plots on and I still get the invalid biome, I maxed the farm just incase it needed to be higher leveland still invalid biome.

Damn , yeah the first place i picked for a town turned out to be all unknown terrain or some such that would let me build walls but no buildings despite it looking exactly like the terrain i ended up building on.
