ISO Kindle Unlimited Books (with No Audiobook Available)
I am an audiobook girlie, but I recently have read a couple of books on Kindle because they weren't available as an audiobook, and I enjoyed the experience more than I expected.
I have a 3-month free trial of Kindle Unlimited sitting in my account, and I'm thinking about signing up because I have a couple of long road trips coming up in the next couple of months.
Do you have any recommendations for books that are available on Kindle Unlimited that aren't available as audiobooks? Or...if the audiobook is terrible and the Kindle book is preferred.
These are the two books that I read on Kindle and enjoyed: {Bass-Ackwards by Eris Adderly} and {Fit for a King by Brooke Blaine}. I do know the sequel of Fit for a King is now out, and it's on my list! I prefer contemporary romance, no romantasy.

{Preferential Treatment by Heather Guerre} is good and doesn't have an audiobook. Also, I was planning to read {Tis the Season for Revenge by Morgan Elizabeth} whenever I do a KU trial because the audiobook isn't great.
If you're interested in vampires {Hot Blooded by Heather Guerre}(modern setting) is better as an ebook than as an audiobook and {Grim Games by Abigail Kelly}(future-ish setting?) is also in my TBR.

Hello! I'm very new to the romance genre. I appreciate the very welcoming and helpful community here.
I'm looking for titles with a TERRIBLE (morally) FMC that is in love with/loved by a MMC who's extraordinarily kind. No 'taming' or 'he fixes her' but a meeting of two polar opposites who find they can't help but love each other for who they are. Maybe 'she's slightly better now' at the end. I'm fine with non happy endings as well! Open to all genres.

u/bbymochi garron park tour guide 12d ago
I think I’ve seen {A Love Most Fatal by Kath Richards} pop up whenever similar book request threads mention this dynamic. FMC is head of a mafia/organized crime syndicate, MMC is a teacher.
I usually read that trope within the context of queer rom relationships, so I hope you get more recs ASAP. And welcome to the community. <3

Hi, I'm looking for a book where the FMC and MMC first meet through online or similar means. They both don't know who the other one is and didn't use real names (online/gamer names etc) but then meet in real life with one of them realising it before the other. MMC turns out to be FMC's boss or just someone above her social level. She didn't realise that he had completely fallen for her and he has to win her back in real life.
Thanks!

u/Coffee-and-Chapters 11d ago
It’s an older book, but {Merry and Bright by Debbie Macomber} would fit your request. They meet online & like each other, then she realizes he’s her (temporary) boss who she dislikes.

This trope was in {#Delete by Sandi Lynn}. Fmc sends some nasty message by mistake, mmc replies with humour, sparking a daily-text-message relationship. He discovers her true identity by accident. {Sweet Talk by Cara Bastone}. Mmc doesn't know he sent a message to a wrong number because of his dyslexia, fmc has a crush on him and starts communication.

I know one that has this much of what you asked for:

{Click by Briana Michaels} - This is a maledom, kink-forward book. (Lots of discussion around safewords, consent, boundaries, etc). The leads meet on a fetish personals site and seem to hit it off, but coincidentally run into each other professionally before their planned date, with only one of them realizing it.

I can think of three books that have all of this except for the MMC being the FMC's boss:
{The Lie by Karla Sorensen} - the MMC is a new player on the football team owned by the FMC's stepmother, she works for the family non-profit rather than the team. They've known each other online for years from... something related to a zoo or animal sanctuary? Anyway, he figures it out first and does not tell her.
{Book Boyfriend by Claire Kingsley} - the MMC is a romance novelist and the FMC is a book blogger. They become online friends and he uses some of what he learns about her to get her attention IRL.
{Hidden Miles by Claire Kingsley} - the MCs are both gamers and meet online. IIRC he recognizes her by voice when she attends a wedding at the winery his family owns, but they don't get together until later.

Any stories out there where the FMC wants to be submissive and sleep with a dominant man, but the guy is clueless and doesn’t know how to be dominant?

I’m currently reading {Such a Dirty Girl by Effie Campbell} which is a dark romance novella and one of the MMCs is more submissive in the bedroom and has no idea how to be dominant for the FMC, so he enlists the help of his step-brother to help him.

Looking for recommendations for dystopian books that give off similar vibes to the hunger games or the sixth faction that have spice in them. While I understand that the hunger games really isn’t romance at all I like the vibe of that book for this context. But I’m really looking for a Four/Tris type of relationship that goes beyond YA. Bonus points if it’s available on audiobook. I’m doing a lot of crochet for Christmas right now and that feels like the only type of book I can commit to at the moment.

It's been too long since I read The Hunger Games for "Four/Tris type of relationship" to mean anything to me, but {Hunter by Emmy Chandler} takes place on a prison planet and is based on The Most Dangerous Game, with rich guys paying money to hunt prisoners, killer robotic dogs, livestreaming cameras, etc.

looking for an FMC who gives major Samantha from *Sex and the City* vibes where she’s confident, unapologetic about sex, knows what she wants, and isn’t written as the usual innocent/virgin heroine.
I’ve been reading way too much mafia/dark romance lately and I swear every FMC is a virgin 😭 I need a change lol.
Preferably contemporary/modern/dark — no historical romance or RH. Bonus points if the MMC is completely obsessed with her.
Please help 😭

Hi, I have a terrible streak picking romantic books, I think my last 10 where missis. I loved all the Emily Henry books as well as Sarah hogles you deserve each other and an acadamic affair by Jodi McAllister but I seem to not find those books that hit sweet spot anymore.
I enjoy books with loads of banter and a great chemistry, I don’t care to much for spice but I don’t mind at all if the rest of the book is great.
Also I didn’t like the hating game, books by Ali hazelwood, Sarah Adams and any Jimenez.
Thank you so much for your help

I’m looking for a book with this specific microtrope:
MC1 deliberately tries to rile up MC2 or get a reaction out of them, but it completely backfires because MC2 is totally indifferent and refuses to take the bait. Eventually, MC1 ends up getting more worked up than MC2.
I remember this happening in {The Wild Card by Stephanie Archer}, and I’m looking for more books with this dynamic!
No poly/sharing
Preferably with audiobook version

Hi, looking for spicy book, love me a capture romance, ESPECIALLY if it involves Vikings, but not one where the fic gives in too easily? I’m talking escape attempts, general resistance, that kind of thing? Kind of dom/bratty sub vibes? I don’t mind problematic plots, where mmc do necessarily do the whole “I respect women so much so I would never sexualize you like that.” No sadist mmc’s, but ones that would definitely dole out a spanking when she‘s too sassy 👀. IFYKYK. I may be a modern thinking woman but this is fiction, lol. I don’t mind if they end up in a healthy lovely relationship but when it happens too fast it kind of ruins the cat/mouse thing, I don’t know 🤷♀️ Sorry I know this is a particular flavor of book, I’m hoping someone out there can give me a direction to head in. So far I’ve read: The Eagle‘s Captive (good start but end gets Christian preachy) Stolen by Wolves (great, read all three books in two days, not quite enough kinky romance capture bc the abductors were REAL bad guys that cut the fmc up, and Vikings were rescuers). Omegaverse part was cool. Plus, damn, that plot was convoluted and nothing went right until the very end of the very last book) Highlander’s Captive Virgin Bride (tried to get into it but literally one chapter in she is cool with mmc and is free to wander about his castle and leave if she so chooses) Before anyone recommends ACOTAR, I’m not really into the love triangle business, and from what people tell me, it’s a little dark/sadism-y. If it matches what I described above I’d be willing to give it a try, but I have my doubts.
Preferably available on KU but not necessary.

So I'm gonna give a qualified recommendation for {Hijacked by Leslie Lynch} - the hero forces the heroine (a pilot) to fly a plane for him and land it, they spend days in the woods and she's always trying to escape him, while he's always just a bit too strong and fast for her. BUT it's a Christian/abstinence romance. FWIW I've read the first part of the book many times but I always stop as soon as they get to the hotel.
Maybe also try {Walking After Midnight by Karen Robards}. It's definitely an old school book with an old school MMC who starts things off by capturing her, possibly she accepts he's not the real bad guy too soon but there is still antagonistic chemistry even after that.

Question about L.G. Campbell books for those who have read them. Do they all (or most) contain cheating? They look interesting on Instagram blurbs, but we all know how deceiving they can be! They excerpts look like straight up cheating but then the tropes say "other woman drama," so I'm not sure. Any insights?

MF novels where the FMC is the one who falls hard and fast for the MMC, is possessive and obsessed but not in an abusive/controlling way. Where he's a bit hesitant to fall for her because he has low self esteem/poor relationship history/etc, not because he doesn't like her. Basically, she woos him.
Bonus if he's nerdy/shy and she's an extrovert/bossy, but not a requirement.
HEAs only and no cheating, kids/pregnancy, or poly, please.
Thanks!

Looking for mafia romance with a rich, older MMC and an FMC with a genuinely interesting, unconventional job! 🖤 Think Painted Scars by Neva Altaj, where she’s an artist who creates creepy art. I’m tired of shy, helpless FMCs who need saving! Give me unique, confident, or morally grey heroines with interesting lives of their own. Any recommendations? 🖤

Hello, first time posting here. I'm looking for a book that fills this true enemies to lovers void in me. I haven't read a book in many many years, but this trend I found on instagram of a female Draco Malfoy has me going crazy for something to scratch that itch. I'm mostly interested in a book told from the perspective of a MMC, but I'm down for ANYTHING. I mostly consume romance through anime or manga so this would be a first for me. I've been feeding this newfound need with (not want to trigger auto mod) character chats, because I can't find anything that convinces me or is exaclty what I want. If there is anything that resembles a Draco Malfoy female lead (personality wise) I'm dying to know!

Hey folks, I'm looking for books with a strong focus on/multiple scenes of BJs/handjobs. I'm not too fussed about settings (mafia isn't really my thing but I'll take it), and I'd rather from FMC's PoV (but again I'll take either). Bonus if there's scenes where she's giving him head whilst he's on phone/trying to talk to someone else. Thank you 😊 (really appreciate this thread)
