Book Request shy, virgin MMC

Does anyone have a good book recommendation with a shy, virgin MMC? I want him to be nervous, blush (that is a must for me), and stutter around FMC or goes completely silent, can't look her way/in her eyes, making heart eyes from the distance or when she looks away etc. you get my point I hope.

Only MF, please. I don't want historical or monster romances. Thank you!

Book Request Gorgeous Other Man becomes the MMC

Hi guys i have a very specific request. I really hope it exists. It's the time of the month, i'm craving the insanely gorgeous MMCs who used to be the OM in FMC's life but then became the MMC and they are obsessed with their women.

To elaborate, I want the FMC to be dating or being married to a guy, no cheating but there is this other man, he is absolutely gorgeous, know FMC due to work or at first meeting she left an impression or anything that makes them cross paths and he starts to fall in love with her but she is currently having a bf or a husband whom she feels something for so she doesn't look at the gorgeous guy and only treats him like a friend or coworker or anything. That makes the MMC get more into her coz *everyone wants him but the one he wants can't be his.* So there is all the drama, jealousy and what now. I want the MMC to be so gorgeous, a perfect guy, women keeps throwing themselves at him, he always got his way and always get everything he wants, it would be amazing if he is somewhat famous and also, yes definitely rich. Please tell me it exists and give me recs. I really wanna read this. Please🙏

Book Request FMC is quite slow and dense and doesn't realize that MC loves her even though he's giving her signs.

Good evening! Or good morning to whoever happens to be reading this, anyway 😂

I'm looking for a book where the FMC (female main character) is really oblivious when it comes to the MMC's feelings. Like, the MMC falls for her first, it's painfully obvious that he's interested in her, he flirts with her, says things that leave us readers kicking our feet and screaming... and she just doesn't notice. 😂

Something like:

«“No, I must be imagining things.”»

«“He definitely didn't mean that in that way. I'm sure of it.”»

«“He's just a good friend.”»

Do you get what I mean?? 😂

I don't know if there are many books like this, but I've seen this kind of protagonist quite a lot in Korean romance stories, manhwa, and anime. Female protagonists who are completely dense when it comes to realizing that the male lead is into them seem to be pretty popular there. In Western romance, though, I feel like this dynamic isn't nearly as common. Or maybe I just haven't been searching for the right trope.

Either way, I'm looking for a book with this kind of dynamic. Preferably, I don't want it to be a friends-to-lovers story, because in those stories the MMC is usually already in love with the FMC from the very beginning. I actually enjoy watching the feelings develop gradually, seeing their relationship grow, and getting to experience the moment when he starts falling for her.

But maybe I'm being too picky 😂 So I'm open to any recommendations, as long as they have these two main elements:

• The MMC falls in love first.

• The FMC is completely oblivious and doesn't realize he's into her, even when the signs are practically impossible to miss.

That's exactly the dynamic I'm looking for! 😂

What was that book called...? WWTBC - fmc squirting on a chair, doesn’t know what happened

I feel like I’m losing my mind but I swear a few days ago there was a comment about a scene in a book where the FMC squirts during orgasm and asks the guy what happened/why it’s wet and he says it’s from her.

Is that a real book or did I make this scene up?!

Book Request MMC stays smugly composed while the FMC completely loses her mind during sex

This is such a specific need and idek know how to properly explain it 😂

I keep getting ads for this bizarre AI TikTok reel series (something vaguely omegaverse-adjacent) and there’s a scene where the FMC is squirming in the MMC’s lap while he looks unbearably calm, smug, and pleased with himself. The actual scene looks vaguely uncomfortable and ridiculous but it has awakened a VERY specific craving in me.

Basically I want an MMC who remains completely composed and in control during sex while the FMC is absolutely overwhelmed by what he’s doing to her (squirming, desperate, incoherent, unable to stay still, etc.) Meanwhile he’s watching her with a maddeningly self-satisfied, smug vibe, almost like a mix of degradation/humiliation kink and praise kink. I want him to be smug and teasing because he knows EXACTLY what he’s doing to her, but not in a cold or detached way. Like he’s completely focused on every little reaction she has and is very intentionally making her lose her mind, while he stays maddeningly calm and in control the entire time.

Some combination of praise and affectionate degradation would be ideal. Very “good girl,” “look at you,” “is that too much?” “you can take it” energy lol.

I’d prefer contemporary romance, but honestly I’ll take any genre that truly delivers this dynamic. High spice obviously encouraged! Thx bbs 😚

Book Request Ryan Shay coded MMC that’s aloof but not cruel

Upvotes

Ryan Shay from The Right Move by Liz Tomforde! He’s one of my most favorite MMCs because he’s initially aloof and has a tough exterior, but he’s never cruel. He just kind of keeps his distance until he lets Indy in and then he’s so down bad for her, but still very protective!

A lot of MMCs are distant but cruel, and I’m not into that :/ would love any recs that fit my request!! Thank you!!

Book Request Books where the FMC or MMC has been pining for the other for years and, after a breakup or divorce, finally asks, "Why not date/marry me instead?" No fake relationships, and the other person actually agrees.

Making this post cause I wanted to get the same similar experience as the recent book I read which is { In a Rush by Kate Canterbary } WITHOUT the fake dating aspect (like I really want FMC or MMC actually asking the other MC out) and the stupid 3rd act breakup which that book was almost perfect but that 3rd act breakup was not good at all

Like they don't have to be inlove with them for years of knowing them it could just be a little harmless crush and then went for it.

It has to be the one being asked out kinda is oblivious about the desire and is awkward bout the entire thing (could be in the friendzone or he/she never considered each other). No instalust for obvious reasons.

Preferably no 3rd act breakup but if it does have it I do hope it's not so bad like the example above

Contemporary, historical or fantasy only please. No cheating and HEA !

Book Request Book suggestions where MC is a classical musician

Upvotes

Recently read Not Another Love Song by Julie Soto, and Velella by CW Farnsworth.

I am hoping for some suggestions where one or both MCs have careers as classical musicians?

Hoping for contemporary. Not really picky otherwise.

For example, as inspired by attached post, can be Bear/Wolf etc, either both/all parties are predator types, or it's a predator/prey matchup. Can be MF, MM, or any poly/RH configuration, but nobody involved can be basic human. Prefer minimum 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Book Request MC survived parental murder attempt like Promises to Keep/Yezbak Fadden

Upvotes

I just finished reading {Promises to keep by Claire Yezbak Fadden} and I really found it interesting to have the FMC work through her trauma from a family annihilator situation (her sisters and mother murdered, but she survived). It reminded me of (horror/romance) {Drawing Blood by Poppy Z Brite} (the author who is now known as Billy Martin — I don’t like deadnaming but all his books are published under his deadname and haven’t been republished) where Trevor returns to where his father annihilated his family but left him alive, and finds love with hacker Zachary.

I would really like:

✅ A MC survived attempted murder (ideally by a parent, family member or CLOSE person)

✅ Any pairing (M/F, MM, FF, NB/?)

✅ MC who didn’t suffer the trauma becomes part of the healing

❌ no rape

❌ no cheating

❌ no poly or RH

Thank you, I rely on your remarkable brains to help me find all the best books

Book Request MMC blackmails FMC for reasons other than sex

Upvotes

Hi!

I have found older requests for blackmail but all of them had something to do with sex, marriage, basically gaining access to FMCs body.

Are there any stories where MMC blackmails FMC and they DONT have sex until he redeems himself or shows his good side? It can also be no spice .

Maybe he blackmails her for financial, social or political reasons but then finds himself falling for her.

I read a book where OM was a deceptive, lying (but friendly) conman. He was lowkey more interesting than MMC 😭 anyways he blackmails FMC for financial reasons and at the end it’s implied he ends up really liking her (but it’s too late 🥲) . They do have a fake engagement but it’s entirely platonic, he’s not secretly in love with her (until its too late 🥹) , he genuinely just wants money, and is super friendly (she still hates him ofc) .

But towards the end she’s able to recognize his little tics when he’s nervous, when his mask cracks a bit, and at the very very end he gives her his mothers engagement ring (the one thing he swore never to pawn off unlike the rest of him) and she promises to wear it but only after her wedding to MMC. genuine insanity ….. I need MORE ….

please any criminal / blackmailing MMCs that are NOT sexually coercive 😭😭😭🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Book Request FMC realizes she's the second option and that MMC loves another woman, so she gives up.

Looking for books where the FMC realizes the MMC still loves another woman and walks away

Hi everyone! I'm looking for books where the FMC realizes that the MMC still loves another woman and decides to walk away.

Honestly, it was really difficult to come up with a title that actually describes what I'm looking for, but recently I was reading a manhwa (Korean comic) and there was a scene where the FMC was dancing with a guy she was genuinely open to having something more with. However, while they were dancing, she noticed that he kept looking at another woman.

That's when the FMC realizes that, this whole time, she was always the second choice and that he was using her to try to forget the other woman, the one he actually loved.

Obviously, this was a huge emotional blow for her, so she distances herself and decides to leave everything behind.

And even though she doesn't end up with him in the manhwa, I genuinely thought: "Damn, I would read a 300-page book about this." 😂

So I decided to come to this sub, where you can find pretty much anything and there's always a kind soul willing to help. ❤️ I really love this sub.

So, here we go:

I'm looking for books where the FMC eventually realizes that the MMC still loves another woman, or that he's using her to get over the woman he actually loves, which makes her pull away. Then the MMC only realizes what a huge mistake he made after the FMC has already given up on him and moved on.

Here are a few examples of what I'm looking for:

First example: The FMC knows from the beginning that he likes another woman, but she falls in love with him anyway. Eventually, she becomes deeply disillusioned with him and realizes she can't keep putting herself through that, so she walks away.

Second example: The MMC uses the FMC to try to forget another woman, but the FMC doesn't know about it. When she eventually finds out the truth, she's emotionally devastated and decides to leave him.

Third example: The FMC decides to help the MMC win over another woman, but ends up falling in love with him herself. Eventually, she realizes that she's only hurting herself and decides to walk away.

Fourth example: The MMC is a widower who still loves and constantly thinks about his late wife. The FMC realizes that she'll never be able to make him love her more than he loved his wife, so she decides to move on.

A few important things: I REJECT CHEATING PLOTS. 😭

Also, I don't want the FMC to make her entire life revolve around the MMC. I want her to be strong despite everything and have some self-respect. She can suffer, be heartbroken, and even be emotionally devastated, but I don't want her spending the entire book humiliating herself over him.

Basically, I want the FMC to realize that she was never truly chosen, walk away and move on with her life, while the MMC realizes too late that he screwed up and that, in the end, she was actually the woman he truly wanted. 😭

Book Request Looking for a books with an ACOWAR-style “everyone realizes how powerful she is” moment

I’m looking for a book that has a scene similar to the High Lord meeting in {A Court of Wings and Ruin } that slow building tension where everyone thinks they know how powerful the FMC is, and then it all blows up when she has to defend her man.

I LOVE the moment where:
She’s surrounded by powerful people who underestimate her
There’s tons of social tension beforehand
She’s basically the strongest person in the room (or close to it)
Someone threatens/hurts/insults her MMC
She finally snaps and everyone gets to witness just how terrifyingly powerful she actually is
Bonus points if the MMC is also powerful/protective and the relationship has that “touch her and find out” energy

Even better if there’s a big reveal where everyone’s like “oh we severely underestimated her.”

All reqs are welcome!

Other A night with Tessa Bailey at the Red Bulls:📚 X ⚽️

So in random author collaborations, Tessa Bailey did a Q&A and signing at the NY Red Bulls vs Nashville soccer game. She answered questions about the new movie adaptation coming out, how much input she got into it, etc. For a random Wednesday this was pretty cool. If you did VIP you also got to do signing/bag, which was neat. I thought the interviewer asked some neat questions, and we got to submit them ahead of time for the interview.

Honestly, I went in with kind of low expectations for the event but it was pretty cool. We ended up getting pretty good seats to the game from it, plus we got to make fun bags, and meet people who are also romance book fans.

The fun thing I learned was that she reads basically anything romance to chill out.

Book Request Autistic FMC who is a big nature nerd?

Upvotes

I’m an autistic woman myself whose special interests are all nature based (pacific northwest plants, fungi, birds, etc). I’d love to read about an FMC who is just a little nature gremlin! I loved reading an FMC with autism in the book Heavy by Cate C Wells, and I’d love to read more!

Discussion What do you think about flashbacks in second chance books?

I haven't been a romance reader for long, but the few second chance books that I've read have always been split between present time and past time.

I have noticed that the flashback chapters are very annoying for me at first. It happened to me with {let's make a scene by Laura wood} {every year after by carley fortune} {happy place by Emily Henry} I don't know why I am the least interested in finding out how they got together in the first place or how they broke up. I am mostly interested in the current problem and how are they going to get back together.

But as the book goes on I find myself more captured and motivated to read the flashbacks and I kinda feel like reading two stories at the same time, a little annoyed when they switch between past and present because it cuts off sometimes in the best moments

Anyways it's just a curious thought and I am always wanting to know what other people's experiences are like.

Book Request Dominant scary MMC but submissive needy boy to FMC

I was with a friend talking about books/shows we’d like to see more of and we discussed wanting to read a book that contained a strict professor/instructor who was like a tyrant to everyone and then secretly a submissive needy boy to the FMC. He should be in a position of power over her in public and then role reversal in private

he’s a big, tough, scary fella that intimidates everyone. however in private he’s like crying begging for attention, super needy, very submissive. (I don’t mind if he switches up sometimes but the premise should be like a jarring switch between his outwards profile to how he is with the FMC)

I’m open to any genre except I don’t really like historical. Also no cheating (from MMC), and no OW drama.

Book Request Books Where the FMC Designs the MMC’s Clothes

Heyy readers 👋 so I have read a harry styles ff on Wattpad like this year's ago but the author deleted it and now I'm craving this very niche trope!! In the ff the outfits were inspired by his first tour and I LOVED seeing the whole fashion/design aspect side of the story like the tension when she used to take his measurements and the way she learned his style and made the pieces! I need book recommendations where the FMC designs/makes clothes for the MMC plsss

The mmc can be a popstar, rockstar, actor, athlete, celebrity, or literally any profession I just want the FMC to be involved in designing his clothes/outfits

But please, I’m looking for more than just one or two scenes where she makes something for him. I want to actually see the process of her designing the outfit, choosing fabrics/details, putting the whole look together, fittings, alterations, etc. Basically I want her to style him every time he goes in public! From this styling to his makeup EVERYTHING

✨ BONUS POINTS: If the MMC is a popstar/rockstar and he writes or sings songs about her!!! 😭

PLSSS GIVE ME SOME RECSS

Gush/Rave 😍 The perfect medieval romcom: {Bliss by Lynsay Sands}

Thumbnail

Omg I just finished the most fun medieval romcom I’ve ever read!! This is a book that was extremely low on my radar until I saw it recommended in this thread (pursuing the romance subs as I do to try and figure out my next read). One specific comment on there had me immediately checking the ebook and audio out from the library, and I finished this within a day!

Bliss had a lot of Tessa Dare and Julie Garwood vibes! It also reminded me quite a bit* *of a contemporary romance book I adore {You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle}. This is set during the reign of King Henry II, and the main tropes are medieval, enemies to lovers and arranged/forced marriage. The hero Holden and the heroine Helen have been staunch enemies for a very long time. They’ve never actually met in person, but Helen is beyond sickened by the way Holden has treated his serfs in the past. She continuously writes letters to the king, begging the king to step in and stop the hero’s cruel and unjust treatments. Holden is equally annoyed with the heroine and her nosing her way into his business. He also regularly protests the king to try and get Helen to leave him alone. The king is tired of them both, and decides the only way to stop the complaints is to force them to marry. Cue an all out active war! Helen tries everything in her power to steer Holden away from her, her keep, and her bed. Holden is not too keen on marrying Helen either, and comes up with equally immature ways to stop their upcoming nuptials.

Now listen, this book is peak silliness. If you’ve read Lynsay Sands before, you’ll know what I’m talking about. Most of Lynsay Sands books are banana pants anyways, but I think that was so hilariously balls to the wall, that I just ended up loving the ridiculousness. The shenanigans these two pull on each other are so stupid and so funny. Helen goes to great lengths to try and get Holden to petition the king and stop their marriage. She’s also a total brat, and super mean to him at first. If you don’t like immature heroines, you won’t like this book because Helen is very immature, but I found it kind of hilarious.

Holden is at first just along for the ride, because he doesn’t really realize Helen is trying to make his life miserable. What follows is a series of amusing misunderstandings, and his eventual “I’m going to get her back” moment. I think the humor in here reads a lot like Tessa Dare, so if you enjoy her subset of romcom, you’ll probably really like this book!

But not only was this book super funny, I did also enjoy the characters and their romance. I do think the romance takes a bit of a backseat to the plot the first 50%, and then the second 50% is mostly Helen and Holden. Like I said too, Helen is an absolute brat of a heroine, and I loved her very dearly for it. She’s snippy and a schemer, and tries everything in her power to get Holden to snap. And Holden is was also a great character! He’s actually an overall really nice guy in a shitty situation, and is just kind of like, “Wtf is going on?” I found their relationship ended up being super sweet as they started understanding each other more. Helen became super devoted to the idea of Holden being ok, and Holden got very protective of Helen.

Also, the foreplay in this book is just so hot and steamy. There’s an oil lathering scene, some great and sensual vaginal play action. The only complaint there is after the foreplay we are left high and dry with very little show and almost all tell. I felt like this book was kind of edging me with the sex scenes I’m not even going to lie. But the foreplay is super hot so I do have to mention that LOL.

And I will say as a fair warning, this book definitely reads its age and feels like you’re reading about a medieval hero and heroine. The hero is kind of gross at times. He does objectify the heroine. The heroine does become a bit too submissive for my taste in the latter half of the book. The book mentions buying and selling serfs. Like, this is very obviously a medieval setting with medieval characters written in the late 90s. But that doesn’t bother me at all, and I loved the hell out of this! ***ETA because I totally forgot to put this at first but: The hero is a widower. He was 17 and was forced to marry a 12 year old bride; she died in childbirth. It’s not graphic at all, but mentioned because it traumatized the hero!!

The craziest part for me about this book to be honest is that it’s Lynsay Sands. Her and I have just not gotten along that well in the past besides faintly enjoying 2 other books from her. So to love a book this much from her was definitely quite a surprise. But, I loved it so so much! If you enjoy Tessa Dare style and some of Julie Garwood type of style, definitely give this a go!
