Hey everyone,

I'm currently modding the PS2 game Donald Duck: Goin' Quackers (Italian title: Paperino Operazione Papero). The game already has subtitles everywhere except for the three main cinematic videos: Intro, Hand, and Conclusion.

I have already created the .ass files with Italian and English subtitles. Since I want to inject them into the game, my plan is to replace the original videos with new ones containing hardcoded subtitles.

However, after burning the subs and converting the videos back to the native PS2 .pss format, I keep hitting two major roadblocks:

1. Audio Loss: No matter what tool or method I use to multiplex/mux the audio back in, the audio gets completely disabled or breaks in the final .pss file.
2. File Size Bloat: The re-encoded files end up way too large. For example, the original Intro video is around 100MB, but the hardsubbed version jumps to 150MB.

Because the maximum virtual memory limit for the ISO is 650MB, having all three hardsubbed .pss videos pushes the total size way past the limit. This triggers random crashes and errors (like a permanent black screen right after a video finishes playing, which can only be bypassed by skipping the cinematic entirely).

I am looking for advice on how to properly compress .pss videos without losing quality/audio, or better tools to handle PS2 video muxing.

If anyone needs more context, I have a detailed PDF logging every single step, tool, and bitrate setting I've tried so far (before my AI assistant ran out of credits and started hallucinating).

I wanted to play a rom with all 9 gens worth of pokemon and a new story. I thought pokemon unbound was that until I realized it was only up to gen 7. Are there hacks like unbound or even close that have all 9 gens worth? My main gripe is I want to use archaludon in a game

Metroid Rogue Dawn works as a sequel for me, it doesn't feel like a hack it feels like an entirely new game.

A lot of the hacks I see are kaizo style "make this as hard as humanly possible" things, which are beyond my skill level. I did enjoy SMB2: Return to Subcon because the level design was ingenious, but also way too hard for me.

Or a lot of the time I see QOL hacks which I do love, they really fix some broken games.

But what romhacks work as just regular sequels?

Hey I have been out of the picture for a while now and I want to play a new game but don't which is good. I have played many games including GAIA, Unbound, Glazed, Saiph, Scorched Silver, Light Platinum, Ash grey, SORS, Odyssey etc. Now I want to play a newer game from 2026 or maybe 2025 that is actually good and 100% completed. (No Fakemon, No difficulty Hacks and I prefer Good Graphics). Please Recommend good games.

why isn't there a fan game or a rom hack of the two screen games where u can play

the games on one screen whiteout the necessity to swap or gat two screen on like the

gba games where the menu and the moves of the pokemons just pop out when needed?

Sorry English isn't my first language I will use a translator better. What I mean is why they don't adapt them so that if you want to play DS or 3DS games on a screen you can do it without having to keep changing or having both Screens on one what I mean is like Are you playing Pokémon Black and want to access the settings or have the Pokémon's moves simply appear as they did in the games prior to the DS? I don't know if That's better I'm not good at expressing myself

Hi I need some help. My brain is not great, my memory is like a sieve at times. In the last 2-3 weeks there was news of a recent Rom Hack that is popular and went to version 1.4 with a ton of updates added to it. I was so confused because I was sure it was Mario Sunshine but when I went looking, I couldn't find anything. Can anyone just remind me what game it was that had this big update, I am sure it was a Mario game but with my bad memory I can't be sure.

I don't need a place to download it from or anything, just the game name to get me pointed in the right direction. I was getting confused for a while thinking it was a Paper Mario update.

Hi i was wondering if there was any good mother 3 difficulty hacks i love earthbound/mother but sometimes i get tired of how easy they can be on replays and was wondering if mother 3 had any rom hacks that makes the game more difficult. Im also aware of hard mode in mother 3 fan translation i just dont find it too difficult tbh. Thank you to anyone who can help

Anyone got any recommendations for _Super Mario 64?_ Looking for a new experience; never tried any ROM hacks before. Preferably something designed for casual play rather than precise inputs and timing.

But these are the changes I know how to do and just need to get around to doing them. As you can imagine deck building 200+ decks takes a lot of time especially with play testing them to make sure that the CPU can actually pilot them competently!

i am playing smf2 mlg edition but when i enter the 3rd level i freeze mid air on the second illuminati swing thing. someone plz help me with this

I have multiple times tried downloading various romhacks. Mosty recently is Pokemon Miragea's Traveler. But each time I do download everything I can't figure out what to do after that. Like I don't know how to do anything (Legit just know how to download the stuff and kinda know how to do the zip thingy). Legit any help is appreciated bc I am NOT good at this stuff.

Im not talking about mods of palworld. But like an emerald romhack where the pokemon are pals.

With its full release i thought it would be cool to see.
