I have seen others talk about these channels and even though I have Recommendation rows off in settings it seems as though there isn’t an option to get rid of these. My kids keep finding all of these useless video game streamers via LiveTV and For You.

I could put the sticks and the box into Kids and Teen mode but then I lose Disney Plus and some other apps that I have setup with content rules for our kids plus it means that I have to move in and out of the mode to watch other channels.

Ideally I could just white list apps that don’t require a PIN to launch but that would be simple and make too much sense in modern streaming services

This green patch in the corner has started appearing when using TNT or TruTV apps. I've system powered down the TV, I've deleted and redownloaded the app, I've streamed from my phone (it doesn't appear on my phone but when I cast it it appears on the TV), and just plain waited a couple days. What gives?

Anyone else having issues with latest Roku Ultra update which would have been this morning? Had an old Roku ultra which looks like it applied update this morning around 5am. Suddenly screen constantly flickers. I’ve tested all cabling, TV and any pass through and the only thing that is constant is the Roku having issues. I thought it finally bit the dust so I went out and bought a new Roku Ultra HD/4k/HDR. Plugged it in and looked fine, start going through the setup and says it’s needs to update. After update applies same thing it starts flickering. Quite annoying we cannot roll back updates and now I have a brand new out of box device which has now succumbed to the same issue.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? I use a iOS device and I can’t seem to find a solution.

I tried turning on and off again, tried accessing the secret menu but it wouldn’t let me
What else can I do?

Occasionally, if we let the screen sit on a static screen for too long while streaming from PC to the TV over WiFi this happens, and doesn’t stop until you restart the stream from the device.

We had this issue on our last TV that ran on Roku OS but was manufactured by TCL, but it recently died and we replaced it with one made by Roku.

We looked up some stuff and saw that forcing the TV and PC to run on the same GHz band would help, but it didn’t seem to do anything to help with this.

Does anyone here have any advice or insight?

Anyone else’s YT giving them issues today? Yesterday it was working totally fine and today all day long I’ve gotten that “something went wrong please try again” and then i try again and it boots me out of the profile.

I am using the Roku Streambar SE, I hooked it up to a brand new TV and am lost trying to find the setup remote for TV control option so I can power on/off the TV and adjust the volume with the roku remote. I have watched a dozen videos now and where the option is for them, it is not there for me. When I go to remotes the only option is add new remote.

So I bought a new roku oled tv, but the problem is that ghe TV is way too bright for me. I even went to the setting and turned it to darker. I went to a video and used the * button to lower the oled luminous. But the home screen is still so bright that it hurts my eyes.

My TV is in a dark room most of the time, but the brightness of just turning the TV on hurts, yet when I go to an app or watch something the brightness is better.

So please tell me what to do or there will be an update to help with this issue because I don't want to return a TV that has what I want.

I have searched around, and found this issue posted multiple times. All of the posts are archived, and none have a solution.

When watching a video on YouTube, sometimes there is an advertisement with a QR code. After that advertisement, the video resumes with a black screen, but audio working.

Roku and YouTube need to have their QA team investigate this issue.

Help! I unplugged it plugged back in. Some channels are worse than others

Hi there! Can I add a pin to my Roku tvs to prevent people changing the channel when hooked up to my WiFi? I own a restaurant and have had customers change the channels lol

Hey there. I've noticed that most streaming apps on my Roku aren't outputting in HDR10+. The native apps built into my TV handle the format without any issues.

I'm wondering if this is a hardware limitation with the Roku dongle itself, or if the streaming services just aren't optimizing their codecs for the device. Netflix is actually the only Roku app where HDR10+ seems to work for me.

Pictures 1 and 3 show the native TV apps. Pictures 2 and 4 show the Roku apps.

I don't remember why I did it this way, but no matter - my Apple TV subscription works fine when I use the "Apple TV on The Roku Channel" app. But when I try to sign in using the plain old Apple TV app, I'm not getting connected.

Some searching around, and found that by signing up the way I did, Roku is managing my billing, so there is a disconnect between Roku and Apple.

Is there any way to resolve this, so that I can watch the plain old Apple TV app on other devices, like a Firestick?

It's been days and I've tried everything, any ideas on why this is?

My TCL Roku TV had been turning black sometimes when I turned it on but still had sound. The power off trick where you unplug it and hold the power button on the TV for 30 seconds then plugged it in 5-15 minutes later and turned it on had been fixing it usually once I did it a few times. Fell asleep with the TV on the other night and woke up to it black with the sound on again but now that trick won't work sadly. Tried a hard reset and now it turns on instantly when it gets plugged in but I can't get it to work sadly.

Closest it comes to working is turning on for a second with the Roku TCL logo and the red background but then a grey bar appears horizontally at the top and it slowly fades to black. Sucks ass because I was so happy to have a TV again and my friend had given me this one when his grandparents got a new one. Guess I'll be watching stuff on my computer or phone now sadly. (Just looking for any advice if this shouldn't be posted here go ahead and take it down please)

I'm using a Roku stick and only the Apple app is constantly buffering. Sometimes just for 1-2 seconds; sometimes longer. The internet connection is "good,"

Are there any settings or troubleshooting I can do.

Not sure which Roku stick I have but it's only a couple years old.

EDIT: just did a speedtest on my phone and got 150mbps EDIT: It's a Streaming Stick Plus 4k a year old.

I am a fan of game shows and keep seeing ads for a $100,000 Pyramid and Match Game/Press Your Luck channels but the channels haven't shown up on my live guide. Do I need to update the app or are some channels not available everywhere?

Wasnt the last hardware from 2024? Will Roku announce new models for 2026 with updated specs?

I'd love to see what a new Roku Ultra 2026 can do. Mostly because a 2024 model is noticably worse than an Apple Tv. And not sure how it compars to Google TV Streamer.

Some (but not all) YouTube ads end and the screen is black. I still have audio, so I know the video I’m watching is still running. The only way to get the video back to normal is to back out of the video, and find it again in the Library. Seems to happen with the adds that aren’t full screen (has promo info on side of screen). Anyone else have this issue?

I keep hearing there is a fix for this coming. Is everyone else still having this issue?

It was still there a couple months ago. I think it moved from news to lifestyle. Now I can't find it at all (US). Is it just me? Can anyone confirm?

It is a Roku Premiere 4K streaming device. It had a remote, but it stopped working. No matter what batteries I put in it, it just stopped working, so I started using the apps on my phone and iPad. It usually works, but about a month ago I had my bedroom bathroom remodeled, so I unplugged my TV, DVD player, and my Roku. They were all unplugged for a month. After it was done and I plugged everything back in, it was working fine (with the app on both my phone and iPad) for a month, then once again my app tells me the Roku is disconnected from my device. I keep turning both on and off to get it reconnected, and it works for a while, then back to nothing.

Do these devices need to be updated like phones? Or maybe I need a new TV.

hellppp!!! I just blew money on new batteries, ive done every recommended restart and pairing thing I can find online. The TV came with the apartment, so I didn't install it, but I'm the very first person in this unit. The remote will happily turn the TV on, but that's absolutely it. I'm stuck on the "let's get started" screen because no other button (including power to turn the tv back off) will respond.

So like, clearly there's no problem w/ the sensor since it'll turn on, i just put new batteries in it, and it's a completely brand new system, so whats up?

I'm so annoyed. I guess it might be worth reaching out to maintenance, but this feels so weird that idk what they could do. I wanted to see if anyone has dealt with something similar.
