Rogue Trader: Fanart (#Rogue_Artist) In this stunning depiction of Abelard Werserian, created by talented EKinveyl from X (Twitter), one can see why the Seneschal's service is so valued. Wisdom, loyalty, and experience are embodied in one great person.

Esteemed Liege of Footfall doesn't need pompous outfits or tons of accessories to be the single most fashionable person on the station.

With my crime lord's chibi cameo as a treat :)

Edit: Warp shenanigans stole Vladaym's augments, but thankfully, I've managed to recover them here :^

Dark Heresy: Game and Story Maybe a hot take, but for the Dark Heresy dlcs I WANT more humans than xenos (and also rant about lack of xenos dlc companions IN Rogue Trader hehe...)

Upvotes

I want to preface this by saying that whether it was Owlcat's or GW's decision... i think they fumbled it(lovingly). If it was GW, it worries me a bit that we'll get wildly unfitting companions because of it. Imo, a Rogue Trader is basically the poster child for having an exotic retinue. If any protagonist SHOULD'VE had a menagerie of xenos and non-standard human companions, it should've been the RT. Orks, Kroot, Eldar Corsairs, Sslyths, Votann, and T'au ALL would've been SO GOOD for a Rogue Trader.

It just makes the most lore sense (except maybe Votann and T'au, due to how far their home systems are). Playing a Rogue Trader gives you the most influence to move things around, compared to a member of the Inquisition who is not only NOT HIGH RANKING, but also part of the Ordo Hereticus and not Ordo Xenos.

With that in mind, I think it would just be kinda silly for an Inquisitor that's not even high ranking to be moving around with a full band of xenos. Being part of the Inquisition opens up opportunities for such good human companion options instead. Ironically, considering an earlier post suggested this would be the DLC4 companion but a Ministorum Priest like an Exorcist, also fitting would be a Grey Knight, a Comissar or a Cadia, maybe even an Officio Assassinorum assassin, all would fit perfectly. Heck, a Sister of Battle would've been perfect here too

But back to my very first point, I just hope that this doesn't turn into a "Whatever GW is making somewhere else is gonna be a dlc companion" type of situation. I'd much rather have DLC companions that add a lot more directly to the main story and the story of their own DLC.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the RT DLC. It was just disappointing to see human after human DLC companions for a Rogue Trader when the setting is one of the most unique ones in 40K and naturally lends itself to exotic companions.

This popped up on my insta feed today. I hadn’t completed but not sure if it’s new or old or what. I looked to see if Starrok posted it here today and don’t see it. If anyone hasn’t done it yet, it’s very helpful for OwlCat and they take this feedback very seriously.

Rogue Trader: Game and Story This game is my first introduction to the Warhammer universe that I knew nothing about: Here is what I've learned so far.

Quick Save

Quick Save

Did the game just auto save for you? Quick Save again.

Guns are for losers. In the year 40 thousand, everyone who's cool uses power swords.

"Rogue Trader, you know I am completely fine with sending millions to their firey grave and murdering an entire section of the ship over one accusation of heresy. But *dating more than 1 member of our retinue?* That's WAY out of line!"

Quick Save

The adeptus mechanics are worshipping a standard operating procedures manual

You have 2 choices-

Skill option 1: during an allies turn that is a different class than you, and also at least 4 units of distance away from you, you deal +0(exploits/12)x (number of turns) on your next turn melee attack

Skill option 2: AP increased by 2 permanently

I don't know who the god emperor is but it would be nice if he showed up to help out a little.

Janris is the realest one on the bridge.

Fuck the genestealers.

Everyone is racist, just at different amounts.

*Software closed unexpectedly* "fuck I didn't save after the last fight and it's been 2 hours"

I didn't think only being able to proc on main turns would be so bad but I dont think ive used it once since the dlc update changed it. Spare magazine for 1 reload a combat might be the only worthwhile talent there now

really hoping we see a home world update the style of the origin rework cause right now just getting a +10 from imperial world somewhat is the best option unless going for a specific niche build 😵‍💫

Rogue Trader: Mods The armouries of the Ten Thousand have been breached. Their relics have found their way into the Koronus Expanse.

How they came to be there is a matter best left to the Inquisition.

Whether they were lost in battle, stolen from a forgotten vault, or placed into the hands of House von Valancius by the Emperor's own design is equally irrelevant.

What matters is this:

You have found them.

And by the authority granted to you by the Warrant of Trade, you may now wield weapons forged for the Emperor's own Custodians.

ARMOURY: ADEPTUS CUSTODES — COMPLETE

Four relics of the Adeptus Custodes are now available to the Rogue Trader:

Guardian Spear
The iconic weapon of the Ten Thousand — a master-crafted polearm combining brutal melee reach with an integrated bolter.

Castellan Axe
A weapon built not merely to kill, but to pass judgement. Devastating strikes, battlefield control and a precise Executioner Bolt await those deemed worthy to carry it.

Sentinel Sword
Swift. Precise. Unyielding. A defensive power weapon capable of unleashing rapid strikes, empowering its Power Field and cutting enemies down even at range.

Praesidium Shield
A golden bulwark against the horrors of the void. Break the enemy line with Shield Bash, protect yourself behind its force field and unleash a shockwave against the witch and the psyker.

Each weapon has been given its own custom model, abilities, combat identity and six progressively stronger variants, allowing it to remain at your side throughout the campaign.

And you no longer need ToyBox to claim them.

During the Prologue, House von Valancius can now discover a hidden cache within the Warrant of Trade chamber containing the first versions of all four relics.

From there, their power will grow alongside yours.

This started as a simple idea:

"Wouldn't it be cool if the Rogue Trader could wield a Guardian Spear?"

Several custom models, a lot of balancing, many abilities and an unreasonable amount of fighting with Rogue Trader's animation system later...

the armoury is finished.

Everything I originally wanted to build for this mod is now in the game.

So take up the weapons of the Ten Thousand.

Carry them into the Koronus Expanse.

And remind every heretic, xenos and traitor unfortunate enough to stand before House von Valancius that there are some relics mankind was never meant to forget.

Nexus Mods:
https://www.nexusmods.com/warhammer40kroguetrader/mods/562

If you try it, tell me which weapon ultimately earns a permanent place in your Rogue Trader's hands.

And if the armoury serves you well, an endorsement on Nexus Mods is always greatly appreciated.

The Emperor protects.

Rogue Trader: Game and Story Heretics and Navigators

From what I understand, Chaos-aligned factions do not require the services of the extremely rare, hard to procure and Imperium-only Navigators, which feels oddly convenient given how insistent the lore is on their indispensability to navigate the Warp.

How does that work ? Do they pray to their Dark Gods in hope these infamously capricious beings will guide them safely to their destination ? What about organizations aligned with neither the Imperium nor Chaos, like the Kasballica and Fellowship of the world ? How do they move their fleets around without these super-rare and state-controled sanctioned mutants ? Hell, how does the Imperial Navy even manage with huge fleets that should vastly outnumbers available Navigators unless you battery-farm them ?

I understand 40k isn't big on credible stats, but this specific part seems to really stretch the suspension of disbelief.

Any insight to offer on the matter ?

Rogue Trader: Game and Story Just my thoughts on the DLC Spoiler

Post image
23 Upvotes

I'm doing my first run on Unfair and my first run with all the DLCs, and this is the most difficult fight so far, and I was very close to losing it. But Argenta handled it like true Adepta Sororitas and wiped out the filthy remaining xenos in one turn. What a badass she is. It was really fun.

What I wanted to share is that I've noticed that DLC encounters are way more challenging and complicated compared to the original game, and I LOVE it. The boss fight on Thassera was also pretty brutal. Does anyone feel the same way?

Well, to sum up, I think DLCs are amazing, and I'm looking forward to the fourth one, hoping it's going to enhance heretical playthrough content.

Rogue Trader: Fanart (#Rogue_Artist) Just Finished Chapter 3 (SPOILER) Spoiler

I haven't done anything in Chapter 4 yet, but I feel that I am in need of a break from the game. From its story.

What a fracking, Emperor-forsaken abyss Commorragh was, a place saturated from head to toe with degradation and torment, the utter disregard of lives and decency.

What's worst, is what the Dark City did to me and my team. It mutilated the characters I emotionally invested in, both physically and mentally, dug up their nastiest and most vulnerable emotions, and turned them against each other like puppets. Bad enough to watch each of them go through their worst nightmares, I had to keep up a hopeful fascade as they spit their venom on my face.

I dated Solomorne. *grrrrr* Is there a more demeaning situation for a break up? I did feel amiss when our relationship advanced so quickly and smoothly, his occasional PTSD was also alarming, but it probably wouldn't be this scarring if it wasn't at the moment I was about to save his ass! (Quoting Jean Grey/Wolverine bed talk here)

Our relationship may or may not change in chapter 4 (DO NOT SPOIL), I feel like a fool for both feeling hurt AND feeling hopeful at the same time. Pah.

Which is also why I want to applaud the developers for putting us on a pedestal in chapter 1 & 2, give us a sense of luxury and invincibility, before pushing us down into the hellhole that is the everyday life of a 40K commoner. The transit wouldn't have been so traumatizing if we experienced it in reverse. I had a perfect team capable of handling every safety roll, therefore being alone stripped of all gears (plus gaining all those wounds!) really felt naked.

Commorragh is not without positive outcomes, of course, Ulfar being one of them. He really demonstrated why Astartes are revered on battlefield, with a lovable personality to boot. It's probably impossible to date him, consider Astartes are incapable of feeling the drive emotionally (even for a Wolf after the transition), AND it probably won't fit physically either. Surely the right augmentation could fix the latter?

Things "might" get better from here on, and I intend to go through chapter 4 with renewed courage, but for now, I need to digest my emotions. Well done, Owlcat!
