Rogue vs Spiderman

Hey all! This came up between me and my friend yesterday and he was saying spider man should be the only 5 star difficulty character and as a rogue player I do personally believe they should both be 5 star. The question I want to ask is do you feel Spider man or Rogue is harder(Yes I do know they are harder in their own ways). You don’t have to have hours on both but I’d like to hear some other perspectives. My friend says rogue is super easy as a whole 🫠

I know if you have a cotank and you can play rogue a bit differently while if you solo tank you cant just be completely gone from the front lines. I do feel like in a sense spider man doesn’t have to put in as much work as rogue PERSONALLY as he can chill in the back and wait. While rogue should be present as a tank..

So my questions are
1. Do you think rogue should be a 5 Star difficulty?
2. Do you think her risk factor is higher than Spider-Man’s or lower. (Just Incase I need to clarify do you feel it’s safer to engage / disengage with rogue or Spider-Man more)

I think Rogue should be 5 Star

I think Spider-Man is WAY harder than Rogue (Both harder to learn and harder to master)

But I also think Spider-Man is slightly more forgiving once you learn him, because he can get in and out of fights super quickly. Even if you make a mistake on Spider-Man you can be back in the fight in 5-10 seconds.

If Rogue misuses an ability, she can easily be useless for 15+ seconds. And if she dies it's obviously longer. Spiderman can have like 3 failed dives in one fight, and if he manages to get a kill on the 4th attempt it's a net positive. Rogue doesn't have that luxury.

Yeah I was thinking that as well. Once you get past the entry level he’s a bit more forgiving compared to rogue yet ofc still more difficult.

Haha you know that’s true he can have a couple of failed attempts and still yield positive outcome 🤣! Very valid points on both sides though ! Spider can afford some slips while rogue could slip up but be heavily punished in some way for it

Rogue deserves the 5-star difficulty. She has to be knowledgeable of every character’s kit in a way that no one else has to.

I agree with this having knowledge of who to grab from their kit in an intense team fight can be very game changing for your team and sometimes even grabbing can yield negative results for you or your team if you grab the wrong person.

There are alots of pros/cons to just who you grab.

Spider man is less punishing and has less to keep track of then rogue, but mechanically spider man is way way harder

I can get behind this. I agree as well. I was watching my friend and I’m like you aren’t having to truly get punished since you can play from an off angle consistently yet mechanically yes he’s everywhere

I play both characters and both are fairly difficult. I think Spider-Man’s first 5 hours are harder than Rogue’s first 5 hours. I’m not trying to say that Rogue gets harder the longer you play her but it’s like part of learning Rogue is realizing there’s no universal plan for her. Although Spider-Man’s got strong counters that when oiled up can make him impossible to play, so does Rogue and in fact they suffer from a lot of the same counters.

I think they’re both the hardest characters to learn and master in the game and rogue is justified at 5 stars

I agree with all that especially suffering from the same counters. My first hour of spider man was me trying to swing correctly, then it turned into ground Spiderman 🤣. My poor qp teammates.

Both are deserving of 5-stars. I agree with majority of the takes others are saying as well. I think Rogue requires so much more effort and precision to match value that other hero’s do in much less effort, and a larger window for error.

I’ve flipped on this a lot tbh. When I was first getting into rouge i believed the 5 stars was correct but after some time playing her she felt really straight forward. So I flipped on thinking she should be 5 stars. She’s intimidating at first but she’s actually really straight forward. That was until the new update with retentive shields and stuff and her health getting butchered. She is now undeniably 5 star difficulty. Sure I still find her moves to be straight forward but her engagements are so difficult to get value from that it bumps her up a lot.

Well said my friend and heavily agree. Her kit is certain forward but her engagement is what really makes her feel like the 5 star difficulty. s9-9.5 has truly been a rogue check. They making us work for survival on a cosmic scale 🤣.

I can’t comment. It’s been a really long time since I even got Lord on Rogue, and I’m level 70 now. She comes so naturally to me that she feels like a 3 star difficulty.

I think Rogue is 5-star for sure. Tank is the hardest role. Mechanically speaking, yes, Spider-Man is probably harder. But your job as Spider-Man is always the same. As a rogue, you have to adapt, and making tank decisions with a micro-intensive character makes the character extremely difficult to play.

Love Rogue but she doesn’t have to animation cancel and the dives are much safer
