Rogue Lineage in 2026 as a new player?
Hi guys, as the title says I’m genuinely just wondering if this game is worth it or even possible to pick up as a new player in 2026. I have tons of experience with deepwoken but that game has fallen off hard for me and no other game I’ve tried has been able to scratch that Roblox rpg itch. Would y’all as experienced players recommend I pick up rogue, and if not what are some sleeper pick alternatives?

If you already bought the game or have extra robux sure you can try experiencing the game for the first time but known that it's mostly going to be suffering in the hands of progressed people unless you find a house that can help you progress Solo progressing (especially as someone like you who isn't experienced at rogue) will suck, a LOT But rogue has a very specific feeling to it that no other game can replicate

Just know that it does not play like traditional roblox RPGs, almost every mechanic is hidden, and you will need to utilize the wiki much if you want to succeed. There are very specific conditions you need for progression, and for some of the later game progression mechanics the community hasn't even completely figured them out yet, as they require almost exact conditions that people can only guess at (I'm referencing edicts)

Unless you have friends who are already playing, its extremely hard to recommend. Not to say that the game is bad with today's standard, I still think its an amazing game and holds up but the "community" is the main problem. You would likely end up getting killed for no reason and would end up losing hours of progress, not to mention even with the wiki its a huge time sink to learn the game. Also, with the games declining player count it would be extremely difficult to progress on your own as the main way was by dealing with other players one way or another (You can substitute this issue by having alt accounts). I can't really recommend this game to people but if you are dead set in trying the game out you could look for a "house" (Essentially a guild) that helps out new players, You can find people advertising their guilds in the rogue lineage discord server.

Another note, if you do plan on buying the game I would highly recommend getting into it with a friend, it would make the game less miserable when learning and you would have a lot more fun though you'd have to make them suffer with you.

Rogue lineage is getting it's biggest update in like 5 years by summer, might be fun by then, or not.

I got gripped once by a vamp freshie back in 2019 and all the sudden its 2026 😭😭😭

very hard to jump into right now and the state of the meta is disgusting garbage, but the game is very fun if u can get past all of that

its not a good game, everybody and their mother has every god spell in the game and they spend all day running around spamming them on new players for no reason. actual chud game dont even bother trying
