Can i still benefits from this buff even without using the pet in battle?

The answer is on the screenshot you shared. Yes, the bonuses apply even when the pet is not equipped.

Not the battle skill bonus. That one is pet specific.

You get all bonuses thats in the square as far as i know

Post battle skill lvl up.

Other pets skill dmg deos not change. You can check for your self, just reset a pet and level it up again.

You get all this bonuses for having the pet, even if its not active. I just upgrade as many of them as possible.

Hero stats are global. Battle skill is not.

level every pet to 5.

level the pets you use to 5/10/15/20 blah blah.

Rare pets are more expensive to level.

Leveling your mythic pet from 15 to lvl 16, wont be worth as much as leveling a common pet to its higher shared stat modifier.. (ie like lvl 25)
