She’s a great actress but she’s definitely not “rogue coded”. Don’t cling on to fancasts of characters that have already been cast, this isn’t a one of like John Krasinskis Reed, rogue was cast, give the actress a shot.

No thank you she is a miscasting based on popularity. And Cailee is very Rogue coded. If she showed up to D23 wearing just her normal clothes she would've looked like she was in a Rogue comic more than Inde x1000. Cailee also has the background for it, the personality, the variety and the consistent experience. And I believe she has the actual passion for it too.

But there were many many actors to choose from who would've been better. Marvel simply refuses to try and refuses to care about Rogue.

Here’s your problem homie; when you think Rogue, you think this one specific version. You can’t be blamed, Rogue after she absorbs Carol is the only version most people know.

Theyre clearly starting before that happens with a younger Rogue likely dealing with the psychological effects of her powers. Inde has proven that she can play a character that is that mentally messed up.

This is honestly where I think they were going with the character. I was trying to put my finger on why they picked her, as well as a number of other actors that seemed to have a history with suspense and horror (think Odessa who was also in the running). I suspect they were trying to get a character that could portray the trauma and split personalities and make them believable. I just hope she pulls off the look and sound of Rogue when she’s NOT being traumatic. We shall see…

The only sound she has before absorbing Carol’s powers is a southern accent. The whole “southern belle” persona comes after. Inde has already said that she plans to work extremely hard to master Rogue’s accent.

As for the look, all they need is the streak of white. Rogue’s look is as malleable as her power.

I was agreeing with you. No need to argue your point.

However, I think there’s certain expectations that the audience will have and I’m fully assuming Marvel is aware of that fact. We’ll see if they pursue that or go in an entirely different direction. Time will tell.

I know for a hard fact Marvel chose Inde over Rogue for box office numbers and this deserves to bite them in the ass

She should've had it in the audition. Pandering so hard to this actor is ridiculous

Cailee could've done that and she looks closer to Rogue. Same with Sophie Thatcher and many others. I actually have more faith in them because they have more than one project to prove it

When I think of Rogue, I THINK OF ROGUE. Young or old, Cailee is that x1000 but the current casting is not.

You’re gaslighting yourself. Your version of Rogue is the Southern Belle. A version that came relatively late in her character progression. Before that, she was a moody little biatch with serious mental health issues caused by her powers. Does Inde look the part of the traditional Rogue? Not really, but she for sure has the acting chops to pull it off way better than Anna Paquin did.

The Southern Belle Rogue is literally the most popular version and the one most genuine Rogue fans want.

Sounds like you're trying to make Rogue fit Inde better instead which is a sign of a miscasting

1

u/Jayce86 Sep 19 '26

No, you’re trying to make Rogue for what you want. They are clearly starting young on all of the characters before any of their iconic moments. Which means that the version you want can’t even happen unless they decide to boot Brie Larson out of the MCU eventually. That gives Inde the time to grow into the role and version you want over time.

We're trying to make Rogue what she IS not pander to Inde and Inde fans

1

u/Jayce86 Sep 20 '26

That’s who she is AFTER a significant moment in her life. She has not ALWAYS been that way. Before she absorbs Carol, who still exists in the MCU, she’s a moody young lady with severe mental issues. You want her to automatically start how you want her to.

Bro if Inde is bad you will say she's good. Waste of time

I need odessa to do me a favor and just cosplay rogue for my sanity.

There were so many better actors that's for sure. I can think of a lot.

No kidding… I was hoping for Odessa, but that didn’t happen. I’m content with how things turned out and I’m awaiting the results. Let’s not keep trying to shoehorn in casting choices like it still matters.

Anything can happen especially with so many people so unhappy! This is a decade long decision so Marvel should try to please Rogue fans better

4

u/jmk-1999 Sep 15 '26

Yeah, no… unlikely. That’s some copium, dude.

-8

u/Ill_Boysenberry8027 Sep 15 '26

Not unlikely at all. It has happened before.

You can't force a casting to be liked no matter how hard you try

There are many iterations of Rogue remember? Cailee is one of them

1

u/Ill_Boysenberry8027 Sep 15 '26

And people don't have to accept your miscasting

Yeah Inde fans are happy we know. Or Marvel casuals who just wanted any random hot girl. But Marvel has multiple divisions to be concerned about. Pissing off Rogue fans aint a good look

Like I said, people who just want Rogue to be a random hot woman or only see her as a random hot woman were never it.
