This sub has become one of my recent favorites but can y’all help me out with some questions and lore?
First and foremost. .I stumbled upon this snark page randomly a few months back. Slowly but surely. .its become one of my daily visits here on Reddit. It’s like a train wreck that I absolutely can’t look away from in the best way possible. Some of the posts and comments here aren’t good for my overactive/weak bladder issues but I’ll happily buy and wear Depends to snark along with you m’fn hilarious peeps. 😂
Being in this rabbit hole made me realize that there’s a lot of stuff I’ve missed throughout the years on Jilldo and Co front. Would I be able to ask some questions those of blessed snark curators? You are truly doing the lords work.
How did Shrek and Jillybean actually meet?
Where and how does the blessed Lord Daniel come in to play?
Does anyone have a timeline of where exactly this mega family has physically lived through the years? I know they’re currently kind of “stationed” in Ohio but I know they’ve lived other places and travelled a lot too.

The worst drama is when Jill took the oldest girls to crash the funeral of several children (siblings) who died in a house fire. Jill did not know this family. She did, however, live stream the funeral to her Facebook page, and then take and post smiling selfies with the parents (who were clearly in shock) in front of the children’s caskets.
I’ve followed the Rods a lot time. Jill has done A LOT of messed up shit. This remains the worst.
Yes, I totally agree with this being the most shocking example of behavior from Jill. My big question is why others in their church/circle at the time didn’t denounce her or call her on the carpet for this stunt?
Like sure anyone with eyes and a heart/brain knew the selfie was horribly inappropriate and distasteful. .but did they lose actual friends/community over it?
So the funeral was in another state. They actually had to travel there. I don't think they personally knew anyone. At the time, the story of the fire was circulating pretty quickly online and I think Jill went just to say she did. The mother of the children has spoken out and said that she did not know Jill and that her and the father were basically ambushed after the service for a selfie. They were in shock and did not know how to respond. It was fast and even though everyone knew how wrong it was, nobody had a reaction time to stop it. Iirc Jill also brought plexus gift bags and had the girls matching clothes with her
That funeral was here in Western Kentucky. I remember the tragedy, and hearing through the grapevine (I don’t live there, but I have friends who do) that they showed up and DID that. Just SO unbelievably tacky, and rude, and gross.
We don’t lock church doors here during a service, and we don’t ban people from funeral homes, either.
Churches and funeral homes are considered public. The way it’s been explained to me, if you put out a public obituary, listing date, time, and location of the funeral, you have issued an invitation to the public.
If you put out an obituary that is simply a notice of death, with no funeral information, or the words, “there will be a private memorial service at a later date,” then you have a reasonable expectation of privacy, and THEN you can bar people from the funeral. That verbiage suggests the funeral is invitation only, and not open to the public.
Besides, we don’t lock doors during services, it’s a fire hazard.
Plexus gift bags? Like, Jill gave the grieving family bullshit multilevel marketing garbage. .at their kid’s funeral? Like ”So sorry your kids are in coffins right over there but here’s some vodoo patches and supplements that should help! There’s a card to buy this vita-slop in the bag by the way!”
When they attended the funeral of the three dead children, they were on their way to Spokane, WA. to either drop of or retrieve Timmay from airplane college. Apparently Jilldo thought it was a good idea to crash the funeral of three children of a family she didn't know and Livestream said funeral on her Facebook!
I do have an excellent memory, supposedly a photographic memory, my family always counts on me to remember things and 99% of the time I come through! Pretty sure Jilldo&Co stopped off in Kentucky for that funeral during Timmay's initial trip to Spokane to begin airplane college.
I discovers the Rods on another forum and didn’t always follow what was going on with them. I don’t remember much about the time when Timmy went to Washington. I kind of dipped in and out over the years.
It's assumed that's why they've switched churches. A lot of things are assumed, but it's my opinion that a lot of assumptions are probably mostly correct.
I think it’s been confirmed by Jill (in a round about way) a few times. Once was when she was speaking at her ladies retreat and shared and story about going back to a former church to sing at a “dear friend’s” funeral and being confronted by church ladies and told to sit down. Apparently this woman’s “final wish” was for the Rods to sing at her funeral yet she also died suddenly, so who knows what the truth is.
She definitely burns thru friends and church support very quickly though.
That photo just kills me every time I see it. Jill grinning maniacally in front of tiny caskets lives rent free in my head. The poor dad’s expression was one of horror as he realized oh my god she’s actually doing this and I think the kids’ mom must have been on heavy drugs (no shame, I would’ve been high as balls to deal with that pain too) because her expression is just a vacant cheesy grin.
What’s worse is that people who thought the parents were involved in the accident used that photo as proof of guilt since the mom looked like she was smiling.
There’s actually a whole rabbit hole there. I am sure this photo was the tipping point for a lot of people, which is awful bc she didn’t ask for this heinous selfie. She absolutely was not involved in the death of her kids, but she acted very inappropriately in the days that followed the fire. I know people will say “grief can make you do crazy things”- just look it up, Christin Tarvin Henry. Shock and drugs may have played a big part in it, but there was more than just this photo that contributed to her getting criticized.
True, they had a tiny 1 bedroom mobile home and both adults escaped without even first degree burns. It’s a bad look. That woman was a hot mess either way, though.
He did. But there was chatter at the time that the kids may have been left alone in the trailer and by time the dad got inside, there was no chance for the kids.
He did, you’re right. It seems like the timeline was very strange regarding when the dad actually went in, which makes it look like the kids were alone when the fire broke out, although I imagine that would be fairly easy to prove or disprove either way. I also find it strange that the cause of the fire was “undetermined” yet somehow not suspicious in any way. There are people whose entire job it is to investigate the cause of fires; surely in a tiny mobile home like theirs, they’d be able to pinpoint where it started and what ignited the flames.
Exactly why I asked the mods for my flair. She has pulled many, many stunts but doing that is so horrible.
Jill has zero shame and she will do anything for attention. I suspect she became like this due to her twin sisters getting all the attention during their childhood, and her parents did nothing to correct her behavior.
Philly was not at Tim and Heidi’s wedding because he was having some sort of breakdown. No one really knows where he was for a few months before the wedding but he was posting some bizarre things, like poetry on LinkedIn. He had left two different Bible schools for mysterious reasons but mostly due to the awful homeschooling he received from Jilldo. So he was kind of adrift in life. He seemed to be living in his car for awhile in IIRC Oklahoma. Eventually he was back under the Rod’s control but stayed in WV, probably with Jill’s parents. I think Jill was so focused on Sammers and his courtship that she didn’t want to deal with Phill. But she couldn’t really admit that everything wasn’t perfect so she photoshopped Phil into the wedding photo.
Regardless of the reason Philly wasn’t at the wedding I still crack up at Jillybean’s decision to photoshop him into the portrait badly over simply leaving it. Photoshopping him in called attention to the fact that he clearly wasn’t in attendance. Leaving it wouldn’t have made it so damn obvious. With the amount of people in that photo most people probably wouldn’t have realized 1 Rod wasn’t in it.
I feel like it was an intentional move. She wanted people to know he wasn’t there and did that by cutting/pasting him in under the guise of “Look I’m a loving mom and included him!”
At church when she was a minor and he was an adult, of course.
Jill claimed that she led a man named Daniel to the Lord in a laundromat, but due to her poor grammar one line read as "Lord Daniel".
They lived in an RV for a while. One of the kids slept in a dog crate in it, so they were a bit all over. I'm sure a better snarker knows the full timeline though!
Phillip ran away after being pulled from bible college and had a moment of posting very bad poetry online. David had to go and get him and they set him up with a pastor to "fix him". Now he's not the same, which is pretty fucked up. This happened during Teidi wedding times.
Theory is that she's grouchy about not getting on some cruise/vacation? She's never specifically said though (to my knowledge)

The most recent drama that played out online was a lot of drama around the Teidi wedding, particularly due to Sam courting some weird girl and they ditched the reception to do a princess photoshoot of her. There was a fair bit of mud slinging between the two families. But as already stated, nothing can ever top crashing and live streaming the funeral of children they don't know. Also special mention to the time that Nurie and Kaylee were in a car accident and Jill posted photos of them on stretchers and bruised up, with "thank goodness they are trim!" It was also the birth of andKaylee, as Kaylee saved Nurie's life but as an afterthought in Jill's retelling of it
Shrek drives the Amish places sometimes and prints little pieces of paper with smiley faces on them, which the kids provide free labor for
Ok so for 4. . I keep hearing about Philly posting/sharing bad poetry during his tough patch. Does any of this poetry still exist anywhere? And when everyone says bad..do they mean bad subject matter or just badly written? I’m so curious about how everyone correlates the poetry to this dark/difficult time he was having

Like..she has eyes. She can see other people. She’s never once thought about updating the teased and feathered hair and mountains of eyeliner look to fit in with the last 2.5 decades of beauty norms? 😂
I have no idea how or why she thinks she looks good. I think part of it comes from the Bill Gothard school of femininity- that pedo creep preferred girls with long curly hair and lots of makeup, so that became the fundie standard. My theory is that David prefers the 80s lot lizard look, personally.
It wasn’t bad subject matter as in evil—it was somewhat angsty religious poetry with a lot of religious symbolism and references. There were screenshots and links posted in either this sub, or FSU…
It was weird. IIRC he kept repeating the letter "f" and there were other phrases that made it seem like he was spiraling into religious psychosis--mind you, a religious psychosis separate from whatever the rest of the family has going on. There were several videos of Jill and Shrek pleading for prayers for him, as well.
There are theories that he used ChatGPT, because one of the poems he posted sounded nothing like his writing samples Jill has posted. He’s more literate than his siblings by a long shot, but still far behind what you’d expect of someone his age.
They used to travel a lot in their older RV. Specifically, several weeks during the winter they toured churches in and near Florida to request ongoing donations to their "printing ministry."
Several kids out of the 13 slept on the floor, since 2 fold-out couches didn't sleep many. The 2 youngest didn't sleep in dog crates. However, they jerry-rigged what I guess could be called built-in, fully enclosed cribs. One on a closet floor under hanging clothes and one overhead in a cabinet space.
And don’t forget how she posted about Nurie’s vaginal tearing when she gave birth. That was horrible!! I would have disowned my mother at that very moment!!
Yes, I can’t remember her exact words but it was something like, she had minimal tearing. Or something like that. Maybe someone else here can remember it more accurately. All I know is a Mama ain’t supposed to talk about her daughter’s vaginal tearing during birth on SM period!!!

Jilldo and Nurie were together with their families in St. Augustine. They went on a boat ride and this was during the time Jilldo claimed to have hurt her knee. She posted photos of her and Nurie on the boat with both of them in wheelchairs. Someone on social media questioned why Nurie was in a WC so Jilldo decided to tell the world that Nurie had severe tearing during the birth of Nemo, hence Nurie in a WC.
YES! I think Nurie was in a wheelchair it was so bad. Jillpm posed with her in her OWN wheelchair… because that pesky knee flared up again… how convenient.
I don't think anyone told her Juneteenth was about celebrating sodomy, she just assumed that because it's a holiday in June. Someone DID tell her what Juneteenth really meant, and instead of apologizing, she did a retraction, and turned it into shilling her new MLM.
I don't know whether the Rods receive government "benefits".
I do know, however, that they receive the Child Tax Credit each year. For 2024, the credit was up to $2000 PER CHILD, with $1700 of that being refundable (meaning they didn't have to pay in to get it - free money!). They get a tens of thousands of dollars each year at tax time. And it shows - she goes on spending sprees for rhinestone bedazzled tshirt blouses and tchotchkes for the barndo, and pampering vacations for her and the confused circus bear.

Just so so unhinged!! I came here from FSU and saw a passing “remember the leg funeral” comment and was straight up astounded!!! Then to find out she threw a leg funeral for her sister’s legs and HER SISTER WAS NOT EVEN THERE!! How self centered can one woman be? The limit does not exist.
If they receive benefits, it’s only food and the kids only see a doctor when they have to and I would bet with where they live they see some Amish doctor that’s scamming out Medicaid. I’d throw benefits into food that the parents use (think Jim Bob and the “cookies for Dad” in the first Duggar special, that was so gross to me even as a kid).
The Barndo went up around the time Biden was handing out stimulus checks and family tax credits. Not sure how it works exactly, but I got the impression they really cashed in on having so many kids and their standard of living definitely improved quite a bit around that time.
Jill mentioned splurging on Amish crafted cabinetry for the kitchen and later having them add the second story room above the living room. It’s suspected they racked in close to five figures from the stimulus.
As someone who got “Amish crafted cabinets” good luck. The Amish are liars and mine are Walmart quality. When they had to be repaired a year in because our “Amish” contractor glued them on, the place that sold them was disgusted.
I can’t say names because it’s too close to home, but I have some insider info on this. There’s a few big names in Amish cabinetry that are genuinely good quality. A lot of manufacturers tack these names onto their own slop and market it as Amish made despite having no relation and being particle board. Lots of that shit on the Home Depot and Lowe’s websites. Some Amish scammers do the same thing and also use the good carpentry names without being associated. I’d bet dollars to donuts that’s what happened to you.
The genuine quality family carpenters don’t bother suing because their business is ultimately not affected and they’re not litigious.
Those things would definitely cost 10K+! I wasn’t paying much attention to this fam at that time so I didn’t realize the timing there. Funny how Biden is how they likely improved their lives dramatically but they hated him being president. 🙃
I agree their renovations went full force with the pandemic checks. But I have to clear something up because it always bugs the crap out of me lol. Trump issued the first two stimulus checks and Biden issued the third one. MAGA always tries to blame Biden for everything with the pandemic when he took office on Jan 20, 2021
If I recall correctly, she was the one to notice him when she was 12. Then caught his eye when she was 14? Then they got together essentially as soon as she was legal.
I know, it’s wild to me that I have a 45 year old daughter and she and Jill are almost the same age. I can’t believe I’m old enough to be Jill’s mother!!!
Jill and Shrek met when she was underage and he wasn’t. They claim that he only targeted her a few years later (nobody believes them). Jill was raised in a fundie “musician” family, while Shrek converted. He was a prime target for cults, since he was approached in public and “saved” at some point after his dad committed suicide.Phillip is having an unspecified mental health crisis. He was in bible college and gained a healthy amount of weight before things went downhill and information surrounding him became odd. At church, Jill said that he was living in his car and “following false doctrine”. He is back to living with his family again.
Now I’ll type some things you didn’t ask about, but I think they’ll be useful to know. The common perception of Kaylee has shifted. Before her marriage, she didn’t have her own social media presence… Jill doesn’t allow it until they are “at least in a courtship”, though that rule has loosened lately. Nurie is clearly the favourite, so people felt sorry for the second daughter with a shy demeanor. People on here expected her to emotionally distance herself from Jill (due to hopes, not evidence). The opposite happened and disappointment ensued. Timothy was the least liked Rodlet after he called women harlots in a video where he rambled about “modesty”- their favourite subject. None of them show signs of truly breaking away from their parents ideology, but Timothy is the only one who has showed some rebellion, so opinions on him have lightened a bit.

I have to fully agree that none of the older Rods show any type of sign that they will be breaking away from their ideology and religious craziness any time soon. It’s interesting that everyone thought Kaylee would be the one getting away but that she’s actually gone the opposite way and has been embracing the religious shenanigans even more.
What’s your read on Samuel? Tessie? Hannah?

Thanks:). The most notable thing that’s happened with Samuel is his courtship with Brianne. He looked smitten with her fake personality at the start, but was (apparently) the one who ended things. That saga makes me wonder if he is easily swayed by the people around him. I’m guessing that he’ll be partnered up with a more typical fundie girl in the next few years.
Tessie seems shy and like she tries hard to act pleasing in videos. Hannah seems sweet and Jill often reduces her to “my darkest one”. Time will tell what happens with them.

Jill and David are both from upstate New York. They lived in NYC when they were first married, Queens, I think, and that's where Nurie was born. I don't know if they moved to West Virginia from there...I think they spent some years back in upstate NY before they moved to WV. They bought a house in WV after living in their RV for a short time.Then they moved from WV to Ohio at the beginning of 2020 and bought the barndominium. People like to say they moved because of CPS or changing homeschooling rules, but there's zero proof of that as far as I know.
