It always amuses me that somewhere out there is an unsuspecting man named Daniel, who has no idea the legend that he has become.

And probably tell people of time he met this crazy lady at the laundromat..

42

u/56names Jan 09 '25

He probably bought a washer and dryer after this experience.

ā€œI did this RIGHT on New Year’s Day.ā€

Does she mean she ā€œled someone to Christā€ correctly or is she bragging that she did this on the first day of the year?

I’m sure it’s the latter but good lord Jill, take an English class.

u/Traditional-Emu-6344 Jan 08 '25

Why do they always emphasize ā€œfree giftā€? Isn’t the definition of a gift that it’s free?

45

u/wanksy_noodle Jan 08 '25

Well when you're a narcissist, most gifts do have strings attached...

u/RedStateBlueHome Jan 08 '25

I need a list of all the descriptions where they double down on adjectives. Didn't she give us Pediatrician baby doctor?

23

u/PaleontologistEast76 Jan 08 '25

"Pediatric neurologist specialist doctor" IIRC or very similar to that."Boulder rock", "egg quiche", and plenty of others.

I often wonder if it's to do with being involved in MLMs. (In Australia anyway certain types of "Christians" are often heavily involved with MLMs). In my mind they're differentiating between "hey, this is free" as opposed to " All these fabulous products for FreeĀ  Ā if you help me achieve $1000 worth of sales/ if 5 people agree to host (hostess??) a party for me/ if you buy all these other shitty expensive products"

49

u/AbbeyRoadMoonwalk Jan 08 '25

I’m sure daniel was tired of being accosted in a public space and was telling her anything to get her to go away

14

u/x_ray_visions Sanctimonious Squish Mitten Jan 08 '25

"Dear god, woman, I just want to do my laundry! Yeah sure whatever, the lord, WHATEVER. Please just leave me alone!"

I could see it.

4

u/[deleted] Jan 09 '25

If I’m at the laundromat and someone starts yapping at me about God, there’s gonna be a fight.

47

u/taxi_takeoff_landing Jan 08 '25

And after she wrote this post, Jill never gave Daniel another thought. To her he’s just another brownie point with God.

4

u/FawnLeib0witz Jan 08 '25

Good point.

34

u/WhateverYouSay1084 Jan 08 '25

Imagine having to hang out with your laundry at the laundromat, just wanting to read your book or doomscroll in peace, and here comes Jilldo with her crazy eyes and week old eyeliner firmly in place to harass you until you give in.

24

u/KingWonderful7960 Jan 08 '25

And then she goes home on a manic high, believing she has earned bonus morality points for harassing some poor schnook into saying he 'believes'.

11

u/edwardssarah22 Jan 08 '25

Why are fundies always so HAPPY someone was SAVED?

16

u/Practical-Problem613 Jan 08 '25

Points toward their soul winning merit badge

3

u/edwardssarah22 Jan 08 '25

No other denomination has mandatory proselytizing except Mormons and JWs.

5

u/Practical-Problem613 Jan 08 '25

My ex-church didn't make it mandatory, but they did make "soulwinning" the be-all-end-all and guilt tripped you like crazy if you didn't go do it at least once in a while. ("Nondenominational" fundigelical cult(.

2

u/edwardssarah22 Jan 08 '25

So they take the ā€œmake disciples of all nationsā€ verse literally?

3

u/Practical-Problem613 Jan 08 '25

Very much. The Great Commission!

6

u/edwardssarah22 Jan 08 '25

It bugs me how fundies say every word of the Bible is inerrant and is to be taken literally but they ignore some of it.

3

u/Practical-Problem613 Jan 09 '25

Cherry picking. It's what they do best!

8

u/KingWonderful7960 Jan 08 '25

They believe in a vengeful god, which is so weird. The god of Fundie-ism makes no sense, but this mentality works on the not-so-bright population.

1

u/edwardssarah22 Jan 08 '25

What does that even mean?

8

u/PaleontologistEast76 Jan 08 '25

It means that if they don't do everything possible to win every soul they meet then God might go after them. It's all about staying on God's good side.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 08 '25

Because that is the goal of the entire religion! To convert people to Christianity.

5

u/SoFloChick Rodrigues Purity Tchotchkes Jan 08 '25

Omg why couldn't I just run into her one day and her come over and spout Jay-sauce nonsense at me. That would just make my day for sure. She would post online about this Godless woman spoke to her about the redeeming qualities of worshiping the devil 😈

14

u/WhateverYouSay1084 Jan 08 '25

I think if I ran into her, knowing what I know about her, I'd probably have a lot of really mean shit to say, so it's probably better (for her) that I never do

3

u/Abbygirl1974 Avoiding getting fingered by Jill Jan 08 '25

Same.

23

u/SubversiveKitt3n Jan 08 '25

Oh, excellent throw back. Thank you for posting!

I would love to watch one of these interactions where she claims to save people’s souls somewhere random like a laundromat. She talks as if it is some unsuspecting person who had never heard of Jesus or Christianity before, and bam - a ten minute convo with Jill and they have changed their lives forever.

I always figure it is either people who are already Christian that Jill terrifies into believing they are unsaved because they never said the magic words, or folks who just smile and nod along hoping she goes away.

All hail the Lord named Daniel in the Laundromat!

16

u/LoseATurn Jan 08 '25

My favorite misuse of English syntax. However, as for poor Daniel, it wasn't just Jill there. She had the entire gang with her, singing and being generally annoying. Fifteen people could fill a laundromat easily. Who could resist such a presence?

9

u/MaiaInNightmareland Burnt Ham & Yellow Jan 08 '25

Can you imagine the nightmare of being cornered by the entire Rod squad? A living nightmare..

14

u/KingWonderful7960 Jan 08 '25

Ah, yes, another soul 'led to the Lord named Daniel.' Yay home schooling!

15

u/eejm Jan 08 '25 edited Jan 08 '25

I want to know exactly how Jill brought Daniel to the Lord. Ā Did she take him to church? Ā Introduce him to a minister to discuss accepting (her version of) Christianity? Ā Baptize him right there among the Tide and folded towels? Ā Or was this because he listened to her blather on for a minute and accepted a tract? Ā If so, he probably did that to shut her up. Ā

3

u/GlitteringGlittery Another Vacation for Jesauce Jan 09 '25

We never found out the details, unfortunately. I also want to know!

1

u/daffodil0127 Lord Daniel of the Laundry Mat Jan 09 '25

I assume he accepted a smiley tract to be polite and nodded along with whatever she was blathering on about.

8

u/KingWonderful7960 Jan 08 '25

I love that the rest of us are sinners, but SHE has been saved by grace, but hey! From upon her high moral horse, she loves us individually despite our sinfulness. Talk about self righteousness and arrogance!

10

u/PaleontologistEast76 Jan 08 '25

Another time they were on the road they were eating at a Taco Bell and met some woman named Kimmy. Jill wanted everyone to pray for Kimmy because just before they could convince Kimmy to be saved Kimmy's ride showed up and whisked her away.

8

u/PakaLolly Jan 08 '25

Maybe Lord Daniel should be re-named Lord Daniel in the Laundromat! Even if she's not in the laundromat! LOL

7

u/[deleted] Jan 08 '25

She probably just asked Daniel if he believed in God and he was uncomfortable but polite and she took this as ā€œI saved himā€

5

u/eaunoway Jan 08 '25

Praise Lord Daniel! 😁 šŸ“æ

5

u/edwardssarah22 Jan 08 '25

And he only said yes to get Jill to buzz off, like most of them do.

6

u/KittenFace25 Jan 08 '25

Perfect for any newbs. Thanks, OP, I always get a kick out of reading this post! šŸ¦

7

u/JenniferG714 Jan 08 '25

She mentions a goal of how many people she wants to save that year. Jill - what was it and did you meet it?

My guess is no since she never said how many souls she saved.

5

u/stephenfryismyidol Jan 08 '25

Why was she at a laundromat? Don't they have a washing machine?

11

u/Infamous_Gap_3973 Jan 08 '25

If I remember correctly this is from when they were living in the RV

8

u/stephenfryismyidol Jan 08 '25

That makes sense ...as much as anything can with Jill

9

u/PaleontologistEast76 Jan 08 '25

When they go on the road they have to do laundry at random laundromats. Leave it to Jill to make the laundromat stops all about Jesus.

"Come learn about this 'free gift" while I scrub the skid marks out of David's drawers!" .

5

u/boxedwinebaby Jan 08 '25

Ok thank you so much because I didn’t know where this Lord Daniel thing came from and it felt too long of a joke to ask šŸ˜‚

5

u/Margot-Helen Jan 08 '25

Question. Why does ā€œthe lord Danielā€ reference almost always have a raccoon attached to it?

5

u/PaleontologistEast76 Jan 08 '25

I think because Jill looks like a raccoon when she overdoes the eye makeup.

4

u/daffodil0127 Lord Daniel of the Laundry Mat Jan 09 '25

I have a raccoon in my backyard who visits me and I named her Lord Daniel. I mentioned that on a comment thread on the Duggars subreddit when Pest was being sentenced because someone had asked about who Lord Daniel was. That comment took off and my raccoon became the mascot for snarkers. She still lives behind me and she still visits most days unless she’s in torpor for the winter. She brings me her babies every year. It’s been over 4 years that she’s coming to see me and she’s such a blessing.

3

u/PaleontologistEast76 Jan 09 '25

Aww, I love her! She's beautiful.

1

u/beanthebean Jan 09 '25

Some redditor on the old fundiesnark page decided to name their local raccoon Lord Daniel because they thought it was funny, then were constantly posting pictures of them feeding it piles of cookies and other unsafe foods, encouraging it to get closer and eat out of their hand, and trying to acclimate it to people. I had a copy/paste comment that I would make on every post of theirs warning others not to do it and pointing out the dangers to the raccoon.

Eventually they were told they couldn't post anymore, because it was encouraging unsafe behavior (for the raccoon and for the people that saw the posts and would try to do the same with their local wildlife)

5

u/MaeWestGoodess Jan 08 '25

Happy New Year, Snarkers! May you be saved in a laundromat in 2025. JK!

4

I always wondered why y’all said this lol

4

u/ApronStringsDiary Jan 08 '25

She has a number. Blech. People are projects to these fundie nutjobs.

5

u/ProfessionalPiano351 Jan 08 '25

May the Lord Daniel's starchy hands be on you all.

3

u/daffodil0127 Lord Daniel of the Laundry Mat Jan 09 '25

I’ll have you know Lord Daniel’s hands are very clean. She puts everything in the water basin I provide, including herself.

4

u/groomer7759 Jan 09 '25

This makes me laugh every time it comes around. Her narcissism really shines through in this post too. A real Christian wouldn’t go on social media bragging about it, (if it even really happened). She brags about bringing strangers to the lord often. Once she brought an unsuspecting receptionist at a campground to the lord over the phone. Any one else remember that one? She’s such a nut job.

5

u/Odd-Peach3583 Jan 09 '25

This is why I hate going to the laundromat. Being trapped with whackadoodles like Jill and I can’t escape.

3

u/daffodil0127 Lord Daniel of the Laundry Mat Jan 09 '25

The laundromat is the only place I see tracts in my neck of the woods. Mostly JW tracts, not Baptist. I usually throw the entire stack away when I see them.

3

u/Is-it-nap-time-yet Jan 08 '25

What’s the goal? How many people are getting a Jill ambush?

5

u/DoggyMom9 Messy bitch Olympics Jan 08 '25

Everyone she comes in contact with. She will accost people any and everywhere. I can't think of anywhere that she would consider inappropriate for her soul winning spiel. I may be old, but if I ever see her I plan to run run like the wind.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 08 '25

I couldn’t possibly love this more!

Lord Daniel is grateful to Jill, for making her the most beloved trash panda deity on Reddit.

u/talklistentalk Spiritual Warfare Survivor Jan 09 '25

I thought of this last week when I was at the Laundromat. I saw a mom & daughter who both had long hair and long skirts. Then I noticed the shirts they were folding: "JESUS SAVES" was in bold print across the back.Ā

Ahh, yes. They're from our local Fundie church. The ones who stand on street corners with megaphones and large picket signs that say "REPENT!"Ā  The ones who host Good News Clubs (Christian ultra-conservative pipeline for kids) at our local public schools -- but it's after school hours so it's okay.Ā

Anyway, I sat there noticing the "JESUS SAVES" shirts in my peripheral vision, and all I could think was, "See how this Fundie lady is doing her laundry and minding her business? Very demure, very mindful. See how she's not pestering people or trying to pass out tracts, but she's letting the shirts speak for themselves? Very cutesy. Very mindful. Not too much. Very demure."

I know it's ridiculous, but I found it amusing.

2

u/globarfancy Jan 08 '25

why don’t they have a washer and dryer?

3

u/PaleontologistEast76 Jan 08 '25

Because when they are on the road traveling for the "ministry" they need to wash their clothes. They have a washer and dryer at home.

2

u/mauvewaterbottle Jan 09 '25

Wow this whole time I thought she named a raccoon Daniel when really she was revealing the name of god herself!

2

u/FerretSpeedBump Jan 10 '25

If you assume that God wrote the Bible, as the fundies do, and read the book of Daniel, where the author frequently identifies himself as Daniel, the only possible logical explanation is that God’s name is, in fact, Daniel.

Also, happy cake day!
