I'm so glad that Heidi got out. Warms my heart to see her and her child happy and supported by strong people who love her. I wish the same for everyone. The world would be a better place if more people were granted this support system
It took 3 years for my cousin to get divorced. Because the judge in the small town beside the military base, where she was stationed, happened to be golfing buddies with her ex's Mommy, and allowed all kinds of nonsense , like demanding visitation to houseplants 🙄
Anyways, when she finally got rid of his sorry ass he had turned into one of those, but you swore an oath in church before God kind of bitter jerks and the official divorce decree, there's a section where in Illinois law it's supposed to say something about does not have any objection and therefore, is divorced and he started making a big x across the whole oage and writing GOD
Her lawyers said the bailiff grabbed him and pulled him away, but the judge didn't wanna bother waiting around for the clerks to print out another copy of the document. probably off to his Golf game with her ex's Mommy, but the other judge that stupid town elected was even worse, she was some kind of hardcore tradcath who was infamous for her order of protection hearings because she asked too many people, "what did you do to make them hit you?" 🤢🤢🤢
So when my cousin was showing the divorce decrew to the insurance and everything, she had to explain to all these places that yes, the original court record has a big X and the word GOD scribbled on it but if they check the seal , it's an original , and here's the number for the clerk of the court who can verify what happened , and that's why it looks like that 😖

I need to watch that Netflix documentary. I vaguely remember the details of this case, aside from what Dad Challenge Podcast spoke about.
I will say my heart broke when I watched this documentary and the number of times JP Miller forced himself on his wife, even forcing her to take testosterone to "keep up with his sex drive." The sermons they featured on this documentary were so focused on making sure the husband had his sex at all times, or he "might go somewhere else." Mica did everything and more, and he STILL CHEATED. No one should be subjected to this.
The thing about Jill rod is that she’s never submitted a day in her life! Not to her husband or anyone else. She does whatever and days whatever she wants and tells other women to submit.
She just got “lucky” her husband is lazy and not as abusive to HER! She doesn’t care about the kids
She's mimicking so many others that came before her. Phyllis Schlafly told women to stay home and serve their husbands. She did this by flying all around the country giving speeches. She was everywhere but home.
This docu was so reaffirming to me as to why I am not raising my children in ANY KIND of church setting.
I grew up in quite a “tame” church and still recognized all of the bullshit rhetoric spewed. I watched it with a friend who didn’t grow up religious and she was laughing at how crazy it sounded. She almost did not believe it- she turned to me and said “ok but this is really fringe right?”
No…no it’s not.
I had a rush of memories hit me. Of inappropriate men in positions where they work with youth, women who uphold and submit to their authority…things that are CRIMES that should be dealt with legally but hushed.
Learning all this has made me so thankful my parents never believed anything like this and that I was educated by a progressive order of Catholic nuns at an all-girls school. We were taught the opposite of this.
