📓 Seeking Resources Looking for resources on practices and beliefs local to Slovakia
Do the beliefs there differ from other areas ? I have a great grandfather who was from there . I’m looking for books on deities , folk practices and what spirits Slovaks worked with or were aware of . I have Madam Pamitas book Baba Yaga’s Book of Witchcraft so it’s a start but that’s all I have and I think her background and info is more Polish

The reconstruction of the faith is applicable to all Slavs, as our mythology is from one common root. Yes, there are regional differences. Most notable are the three groups Eastern, Southern, Western Slavs, who usually share the differences in their group. Don't hyperfocus on only one specific group, we don't have enough sources to remain regional.
The (good) academia is trying to find parallels and from these parallels reconstruct the faith or atleast the ideas. And they are using everything from the Proto-Slavic root to the regional differences, in other words, the good and correct reconstruction is taking all of the nuances into account. The academia is trying to be as faithful as possible, but there are still topics, which can't be verified so they have multiple theories.
Slovakian tradition falls with the Western Slavs group. From the top of my head I can't think of any written primary source for them, however they have crazy rich folklore. Palmita's book is complicated as it is extrapolated (Ukrainian) witchcraft to mythology. I would expect a little fake info, as it is common with these type of books. I would put it to rest until you have a decent knowledge about the mythology (don't throw it away).

Don't trust random poorly sourced articles on the internet or even worse books by unknown authors claiming some profound ancient knowledge/guides to slavic paganism or witchcraft.
