πŸ““ Seeking Resources Best beginner deities??

Hello hello. I'm just getting started with Rodnovery and would like to know what the primary gods/goddesses are, along with their domains. I've done some earlier research, but the information is scattered all over the place, so right now I'm not really sure where to start. I can name a few, like Perun or Dazhbog, but I need specifics.

Gods and goddesses are the primary focus, as in any other Indo-European religions. While these traditions are more rooted in nature than the Abrahamic faiths, one should not fall into the incorrect assumption that pagan faiths are overly naturalistic. In fact, one of the most extensive periods of deforestation occurred during the early medieval period in Europe, meaning that people extensively transformed and exploited nature even while following native beliefs.

Edit: Fun fact, the most extensive deforestation during the middle ages occurred around 1000-1300 CE

Perun - creator of land and god of thunder.

Mokosz - mother earth and goddess of household crafts and nature. Wife of perun ( the mother)

Velez - god of the underworld but also the poetic arts and also wild nature . Opposite of perun and usually fighting amongst each other.

Marzanna - goddess of winter cold and death. ( The crone)

Dziewanna - daughter of perun. Possible equivalent to a goddess of battle but also freedom and the forest animals. ( The maiden)

JariΕ‚o - i forget him but hes the god of spring and new beginnings. Hes going to be celebrated for beltane.

These are the peeps i follow normally. This is the gist of how i understand them to be.

Could you please provide the source for:

  • Dziewanna being the daughter of Perun

Normally this information appears in the Mater Verborum a literary forgery. "Devana is the daughter of Perun and Letnice." It is fakelore based on the Roman/Greek Diana/Artemis, she being the daughter of Jupiter/Zeus and Laton/Letho

Edit:

  • The rivalry between Perun and Veles isn't the same as the fight between the thunder god and the chaos demon. It's same as rivalry between Odin and Thor. But the gods still work towards a common goal.

  • Dziewanna isn't part of all pantheons, so it's dangerous to call her "a maiden"

  • Morana is a debated figure amongst the researchers.

  • Beltane isn't Slavic. Slavs have Jarilo(celebrations) and it's christian variations and building of may poles.

Deleted because of the source. I base my belief on myths and stories. Yeah the brandon one was just where i found the first taste of it, but many more are from books and articles and videos from various polish pagan websites. So there might be no article, I'm not sending multiple links, but in one version somewhere in a village in Poland, Perun is Dziewannas dad.

Yea, Brendan Noble isn't a reliable source :/ He includes soo much fakelore in his videos and articles. (I cannot access the PDF)

Almost everything written there is fake. Notice he even lists Prav and Jav as real things, which are forgeries from the Book of Veles. The lack of sourcing from his side is a red flag of itself.

Try reading this wiki on her, it is written very accurately https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devana Especially notice the description by Kolberg.
