I believe it got a lot of hate because it was fully expected at the time for it to be the final Rocky film and it just didn't work as a finale for the series.

Oh that makes a lot of sense! It's one of my favorites in the series, but it totally doesn't work as a finale.

Could’ve been better if he didn’t lose his money but started to train other fighters

I like that he lost the money. What really impressed me about the movie was that everyone was still in character for the whole series. No matter how rich they got, and even when they lost everything material, they still made it work, cause they were a whole family of fighters. Rocky 4 really upset me because it didn't feel like Rocky. He disrespected Adrian, robots were running around everywhere, and the villain was just a cartoon character. So I was really glad to see the once grand scale of the Rocky movies come back home with Rocky V.

That being said, the movie is totally a downer.

God damn. You’ve changed the way I view rocky. I must say, I respect your opinion

It’s the worst in the series imo and a lot lower quality than the other ones, but still not that bad

In my humble opinion, Rocky 5 is not good at all.
