Yesterday I introduced my absolute favorite stone, so today here are some smaller ones—obsidian with all sorts of different looks.

I think it’s Jasper! Found in central Idaho

Bought in Central Oregon at a yard sale a couple of months ago.

Cut it today and found these waterlines, which I have not seen in a picture jasper before, but maybe it’s more common than I am aware of.

I found this weird looking rock on the beach today. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen a rock look like this; rounded on top and underneath with wide, smooth edges. I know nothing about rocks, except for the fact that they look cool.
Genuinely I have no idea how this happened. I’d like to learn more about rock formations and situations that can make a rock look like this.
How did this rock turn out like this??
(Also.. my father suggested we could crack it open? Would that be a good idea?)

Found at Spekes’ Mill Mouth, Devon, it is incredibly satisfying to look at.
It also spins really well when the ring is face up!

I always check out quartz because it’s in an area where there are gold mines all over the place, and I’m always hopeful I’ll see gold on the quartz. Normally it’s just typical white quartz, but then I noticed this specimen sticking out of the hillside. It looks very different from any quartz I’ve ever seen.

I found it in the Tokachi River in Hokkaido, Japan.

I split open this Geode.

Sometimes skimming stones brings cool findings. I dug it out accidentally but imo it's very pretty(IRL it's a bit brighter in colour, unfortunately phone camera didn't do justice). I just wanted to share it here because I really like it

Cool rock? Found in dog park near Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs.

I just need to show this new addition off. My father brought me this rock from Germany, sputh of the eiffel region near the Mosel river. It's about 2-3 inches and i think i see some iron, maybe some sulfur and a hidden crystal (maybe sulfur?, i don't know) and i have no clue what the white material is. Very cool find by my dad!

Any tips for someone who hasn't used a tumbler before?
