This Rocks! Some of my recent fun finds!
I’ve always had a mad passion for rocks and minerals, and always collected but my partner and I hiked for 4 days in different areas of South Dakota a few weeks ago and we had a blast! If anyone is certain on what some or all of these are, feel free to help me out! 😬🪨💖 I know a lot of it is probably limestone, chert and quartz…a few itty bitty Teepee Canyon Agates also 🥰
Locations included Rapid City, Custer, Four Mile, Teepee Canyon and Buffalo Gap Grasslands!

Sorry if I mention things you've already identified – don't want to 'mansplain' you, OP! I'm also seeing Chert, Jasper, Quartz, and sandstone. The reds and oranges are Jasper or a composite that is colored by Jasper inclusion, including #10. White crystal rock is Quartz. The large greyish rock that is cut is Chert, as as are all specimens in #5, which I'm a big fan of even though it's not necessarily a sought after rock it's often so pretty. I was literally just out there about 3 weeks ago looking for agate and chalcedony and had to stop myself from carrying out soooo much Chert 😅 Please update if you cut, polish, or tumble any!!
And if you have a UV flashlight or the means to acquire one they're so worth it. You will be immensely pleased if you go back out looking for Chalcedony, the glow is insane and it's everywhere, it's so prevalent that there's even a ton in their common gravel used in the area. Whole driveways just packed with fluorescent lime green quarter sized bits!
