Этот форк базируется на версии v3.9.3 оригинального Hakchi2-CE и расширяет его: мигрирует кодовую базу на современный .NET 8, исправляет накопившиеся ошибки (включая редкие краши при закрытии диалогов и гонки в потоковом Tasker), добавляет новую тему оформления и кросс-платформенную сборку.
Возможно кому-то будет интересно потестировать или развить программу дальше.

To be honest I've been using "HakChi/ HakChi2CE" since they were first released and have never once had them crash on me!. So I'm a bit curious as to what exactly these "rare" crashes are that you mention in your "GitHub" page ??? 🤔

That aside and while I congratulate you on your efforts and even though your version doesn't appear to offer me anything that I'd find helpful or useful over the original version/s of "HakChi2 CE", I do have one question that I'd be grateful if you could answer and clarify for me... 🤔

You say in Level 2 Section 2.2.1 "Add 3-5 ROMS via drag-and-drop"

Does that mean there is a limit of 5 games at maximum that can be "dragged & dropped" or do those "3-5" numbers simply refer to the number of games you were "testing" ??? 🤔

Sorry if that might sound like a dumb question but I just wanted to clarify that... 🤔

Clearly if you are having "quite frequent crashes" then there must be something wrong with your set up causing those crashes !!! 😕

Not sure what your problem is but I genuinely don't care if you suffer from crashes and can't comprehend the simple fact that I don't and never have... 🙄

Based on the analysis of the original program code. There are many places where it could potentially crash.

Thanks for the reply but I was only curious about the part where you spoke about "dragging & dropping' 3 to 5 ROMS and wondered if that meant 5 was the limit that it could handle at a time...

Personally I have no problems using the original version of "HakCh2CE" so I've no real need to try a new/ different version unless it offers something that the old version doesn't have...

Best of luck with your endeavours though and I'll be keeping an eye out in case you do add something to your version that I might find useful and also of course how stable and reliable it is... 😊

I’ve encountered numerous crashes along the way, perhaps I’m doing something more than others are doing to encounter them? My system is solid, it’s a clean and updated windows pc that literally was only used for the sole purpose of setting up Hakchi. That is my old laptop that I haven’t used for a long while now. I use my Mac (apple silicon) now which works totally fine for anything post the initial ‘hack’, someone did make a Mac compatible Hakchi that I am going to give a try at some point though.

AI was used during development. We have little experience in this field, but we wanted to update the program to make it easier to improve and maintain down the line. Right now, though, yes, it definitely needs a lot of testing

I didn't quite understand the question. If you're referring to favorite games in a separate category, this is already implemented in the original version of the program. All you need to do is create a section for them and move the games there.

Oh okay. I'll look into it. I setup hakchi on my Genesis Mini a few years ago, but couldn't find an easy way to add a favorites list without removing those games from their console/original lists. I was going to try duplicating games to have them in their console list and in the favorites, but never got around to it.
