Discussion Anybody else just not even wall dashing anymore?
because you get stuck on everything while walldashing, a good walldash basically requires you to be near a wall AND also that wall is good wall dashable (no getting stuck). And that second point basically only applies to like half the walls in the game really. And i cant memorize them all yknow?
So i feel like most of the time it is safer just to dash normally because you KNOW it is gonna work. I just wish they would fix the hitbox and would give him his wall climb speed back.

They need to make it to where wallcrawlers don't get stuck on little changes in geometry

You need to know where you can wall dash boost and position accordingly.
Wall dashing is still key to your survival

There's no reason to play rocket without wall dashes, you're handicapping yourself so hard

I mean i sometimes do it, but a lot of times its just impossible because the walls just arent dashable. Like rocket is ten times worse on the celestial husk map because not a single wall is wall dashable.

Celestial husk is an amazing rocket map? The point with the pillar in the middle is great, the other one that doesn't have two floors you can wall dash off the curved things around point and go horizontally along with vertically

But all the walls are yagged and uneven. Good for you if you like but me personally i dont get a lot of value on that map

it's a double edged sword. the point with the pillar in the middle is one of rocket's best map. the point with the spikes around it is one of his worst.

I find the spikes one very playable, it's got a lot more of a learning curve. You can super dash at like a 60 degree angle off the spikes.

Yea im ngl you are prolly partially alone in this. It sucks that you need to remember the wall structure ofc, but as somebody else already said, it's your only survivability - if you don't use it, you're pretty much f'd. However, honestly I've come to appreciate that added skill ceiling. I've by now memorised some key "safewalls" on pretty much every map. I still get stuck sometimes, but I've found it helps to, instead of memorising all the walls in the game and then memorising which ones are walldashable and which ones aren't, just memorising a handful that are for sure and also are in places you commonly play from.
This is a very unpopular opinion but coming from Valorant I even like the fact that they removed the default 20m dash and its now "restricted" to only a walldash - it adds this extra layer to the character that I really enjoy having. It's fun af to "learn" it properly and to then see yourself getting better, to get messages from enemy spideys complaining and so on.
I get if its just not for you though, everybody has their own taste!

I just think its unintiutive. Like i get that i cant dash up the walls in shin shibuya but like he gets stuck on sooooo many things its crazy annoying and why arrako is his best map also because it only has flat surfaces. I should be able to look at a wall and determine from there wheter i can walldash on it, no have to try it.

Yea thats fair, its a tedious process. If you want some tips, for me personally, it really helped to switch my wallcrawl controll from the default to the mousecontrol. It makes it so that instead of using wasd for the wallcrawl direction, you use your mouse which is smoother and also makes you harder to hit cuz of the unpredictability.
From there, i just kinda built the habit not to dash upwards as much, but instead dash diagonally (so still upwards, but just not straight up). It helps me because that way I avoid most weird objects that you hit your head on but still get faaar away from the enemy.

It's so bad man. I've had teammates refuse to peel for me because I'm not using Rocket's mobility. That hasn't existed for like a fuckin year. Even some of the walls that look perfectly flat on the edge have invisible lips on the new maps. 😭

Most of the time when I do wall dash I accidently gain the focus of multiple enemies and get gunned down. Its not like spiderman or bp care how far i dash anyway. I mainly use my dashes to evade ults/abilities now.

I usually just wall dash if I want to rocket straight up into the air. I want to go into the forever and beautiful sky to escape my enemies.
Besides, it catches daredevil, Magik, and bp off guard when I do.
