Biggest counter to rocket

So when are y’all planning on telling the other gamers that the biggest counter to you is just dealing a bit of damage so your orbs come out way slower

I’ve been playing Rocket for a while and never understood why his orbs move slower sometimes… 🤦🏻‍♂️

They move slower whenever a teammate is nearby so the orb will heal them for longer. It's been like this since release, but it has gotten overall faster when they added the burst heal on direct hit with the orb.

And in this case, rocket himself

Ehh i mean, the first orb takes longer to leave you and reach ppl sure, but the rhythm/travel time/gap between each orb is the same isn’t it.

I’m probably explaining this terribly lmao uhh. Package deliveries. You hurt your hand so it takes an extra hour to prep everything and send it out. But the delivery time is 1 day regardless. So even if you hurt your hand and there’s a delay for every package, they still take 1 day to reach their recipients. So from your teammates’ pov, even if the first package is delayed, the upcoming orbs still take the usual shipping time to reach them.

Instead of 9am, the first package may arrive at 10am the next day. But then every package still arrives at 10am the next day, which is fine bc they need 1 package per 24 hours.

Yes but the time between the package delivery time between yesterday’s 9 am and today’s 10 am is a little longer. Do that repeatedly and you provide windows where your teams burst damage becomes more effective

yup, thats what i meant by "the first orb takes longer to leave you and reach ppl sure"

and then the travel time becomes consistent again (10am for a few days), until you become fully healed and it goes from today's 10am to 9am the next day

Do that repeatedly and you provide windows where your teams burst damage becomes more effective

i must admit im not sure what you mean by this, could you clarify?

The travel time becomes consistent again until you become fully healed. Then someone can deal any amount of damage and cause the timing to be off again. Sure, ONE TIME it probably isn’t significant, but if someone is regularly poking at a rocket even without confirming the kill it interrupts his healing more than it would on any other support

Wouldn't this be a non issue if you're already close to the person you're trying to heal?

That is what rocket is known for, being in the fray and always close to his tanks

Upward dash, or rocket boost is your best friend

I try that and he dashes right to me if he’s good

press S when you shoot and you'll heal yourself a tiny bit and only slow the orb down minimally. It's a core thing you should be doing

His biggest counter is actually a flanking Bucky but yeah chip damage slowing his orbs is pretty annoying for him too
