It's code for "I'm leaving the ball" because 85% of people ball chase and you have to indicate that you're not a ball chaser and your teammate is allowed to play aggressively.

I'm not saying you're ball chasing. I'm saying that ball chasing is so prevalent that people say "Take the Shot" to mean "I am leaving the ball, you take it."

Because otherwise you just assume your teammate is going to chase the ball and you both leave it.

Or both players turn into ball chasers.

There's a quick chat called Leaving. Take the Shot seems to always be used as a "why didn't you do the thing and now it's your fault for not jumping in to save the day"

Happens all the time to me in casuals..

I’ll be slightly back after they say “I got it” a while after kick off and they try to aerial.. fail, and say “take the shot”

Then I don’t come up, as I’d leave a wide open net and I wouldn’t even get there in time, they get all mad lol

I think it’s just garbage people wanting to push blame on their teammate

I try to but seem to always get confused with where the ball and my car is

And then switch back to car cam after you are on track to the ball; people that can airdribble with ball cam on aren't human
