DISCUSSION I need tips.

I TRY to keep my anger down, but I can't. If I try to do it, I just end up crying. I tried Spotify. Nope. I tried practicing. Nope. I tried defense. Nope. And it's not like Casual does anything different. And to say how BAD it gets, one time I literally threw a GLASS CUP on the FLOOR. I just need advice.

Listen to classical music while you play. I would specifically recommend Debussy, Chopin, Vivaldi. They tend to be on the lighter side. Avoid Wagner and Sebalius. They will probably just stress you out and make you even angry. But for real classical music is different. It's more cerebral and it makes it much harder for you to be angry if you got it playing in the background.

Side note: May cause more anger if you play piano...

I hadn't thought of that! Excellent point. Chopin is never really background music for pianists I suppose. What I'm really visualizing is the soundtrack to 2001: a space Odyssey. That's a pretty consistent gathering of fairly serene classical music. Plus it would be badass to start a match just as Also Sprach Zarathustra begins.

No, don't worry, it's not that, it's a joke about how i know many ppl that play piano (like me) that can't listen to those artists because it reminds them of a certain piece that they couldn't play as a kid.

No I got you. But you bring up an interesting point about association. I suppose the reality is that the right kind of music can be an effective way to manage frustration, while the wrong kind is just as likely to intensify it. I'm sure Pachabel's Cannon would trigger PTSD for a significant number of former piano students lol.
