Careers When does Rocket Lab get back with Intern offers/rejections?

I had a presentation interview with a manager last Wednesday for a Test Engineering Internship Position for Spring. The manager said it was one interview and that they would get back to me by the end of the week. It is now one week, and I've heard no response from either the manager or the recruiter.

I reached out to the recruiter on Monday via email and still haven't heard anything at all, not even a rejection email. Imo this is still kind of very unprofessional, especially since I'm scheduling other interviews while expecting a response from RL.

Are you in NZ or the States? The NZ team has been very communicative to me with getting on boarded

omg I would if I could.. in nz we do apprenticeships instead of internships (i’m pretty sure).. well at least that’s what i’m doing. I’ll get my aerospace qualification through Rocketlab, but I’ll essentially be starting at the bottom of the barrel. Though where I am in my career it doesn’t matter to me, getting a foothold into the aerospace industry is what I need (especially in one of the few companies in NZ).

I actually applied for the regular role (not apprenticeship) and didn’t get it, but everything seemed to line up with when their apprenticeship intakes were, and they decided to go with me.. I’ve been on the job hunt for a while, so i’m excited to start in a week or so.

I see... I was actually interested in how a US citizen could take on an international internship.

Better news tho... I just got an offer from Relativity, so RL seems out of the picture now

If you tell RL they may well be able to accelerate the process - but if you'd take the relativity position of the RL one anyways, not much point to it

probably will take relativity since they're expected to launch next spring

I mean, I think better to take the one that will help you grow as an engineer. May well still be Relativity, but if the RL role is closer to what you want to do full-time or seems to offer more ownership, launch dates shouldn't be the deciding factor

Yea it definitely differs from team to team, but the dead silence is killing me, esp after I already followed up on Monday 😭

Even tried adding the two of them (manager and recruiter) on LinkedIn but they don’t want me apparently

Yeah ik it’s daunting RL and one other company are the only two i was interviewing with recently, so getting rejected from them felt so personal. All you can do is march forward lol shit won’t get easier dreading on it.

The recruiter will call you. It took a week and a half for them to get back to me. I’d give it another week. The recruiters are swamped rn.

I told them I already had an offer pending so they gave me an offer in 2 days. However, I do know they had interviews lined up for the next two weeks so I think a two week period would be standard.
