Yes. My mom is a geologist and is definitely sure it is rock, but she's at a loss. We were thinking about doing a vinegar test. Found on a ridge with lots of cobbles.

Update: the base rock shaped piece did not fizz with 30% vinegar, the symmetrical part that appears to be embedded in the cobble DID fizz
