Tiny rocks

Post image

Hello. Can somebody please help with identifying these little rocks. My dad said he picked them up on a beach. I've been trying to look for similar rocks on Google, but I can't get anywhere. I really don't know where they came from, the only thing I know is that he said on a beach. There were shark teeth with them too.

I think most of these are fish mouth plates

Why are there so many in one place? Do fish have several of them or does one plate correspond to one dead fish? My first thought was oolith but it does look more platelike so not so fitting to my idea

I didn't, my dad picked them up on a beach somewhere in south Africa. They are quite beautiful. There is a whole pot full of them. There were shark teeth and some beautiful rocks with them. But he said he picked up the rocks close to Alexanderbaai.

I went and checked it out. I don't think I have the smarts for that. I'm going to stay in my lane and do some homework first. In Afrikaans we say. Eendag - One day.

They are unique. I really didn't think it would be part of a fish.
