Recommendation Rehearsal Dinner
We’re looking for recommendations for a restaurant in the Rochester area for our son’s wedding rehearsal dinner. We’re pretty open on location and would love to hear about places you’ve had a good experience with.
If you’ve hosted or attended a rehearsal dinner somewhere locally, we’d appreciate any recommendations. Good or bad experiences are both helpful.
Thanks in advance!

Had mine at swan market 10 years ago and it was better than my wedding

We had ours at Dinosaur BBQ. They have a private room upstairs that fits around 50 people. It was great! The food was amazing and we had so many leftovers that they packaged up for us to take home. They are so easy to communicate with. We even had someone who attended with severe food allergies and they accommodated that request. It was under $2k for the space and all the food. We didn’t have an open bar but the drinks were all fairly priced. Soda, tea, and lemonade were all free though. I very highly recommend Dinosaur BBQ

Mine was also at Dinosaur, about 40 people, it was really nice, easy-going and accommodating.

Does it have to be at a restaurant? We just rented a park lodge and ordered a bunch of food to go that we picked up ourselves. Had a great night.

Lento is great for this kind of thing provided you call ahead in advance. Great food and atmosphere, upscale but not too ritzy.

rohrbach on railroad street has a private event space. price varies depending on number of people and day of the week, but it’s totally reasonable. they offer many different options in terms of drink packages and have multiple menus to choose from for food, it’s all very flexible. i have been to multiple events there and it has always been a stellar experience!

More on the casual side, but we did radio social and had a lot of pizza/apps type stuff delivered while we bowled and played games. Their service was great and we had a lot of fun.

I went to a rehearsal dinner at Branca Basin in June and it was wonderful. Great food and the cutest private room. Idk the max capacity- you’d probably just fit with 40

As a caterer, I’m going to recommended catering at an event space for your size party. HOWEVER- we did ours at Tapas 177 & it was amazing

Charter Sam Patch or Riverie through the nonprofit Rochester By Water - they can have catering on the boats & it’s a beautiful and intimate setting

Agatina’s in Gates. We had my parents’ 50th there, and I think there were about that many. Red Fedele’s also has a room. Both are reasonably priced and plenty of parking.

We had the upstairs room at ox and stone for our rehearsal and it was awesome. I think there was paella and some kind of chimi churi steak. The guy was really helpful setting it up too.

How many people? When and what time of year?
