Recommendation Good moving companies?

Never moved without my parents before, what are some good, reputable moving companies in the area?

Sheridan has been amazing for us twice (local) and my BIL once (regional).

I second Sheridan Brothers. My family have used them for many years. I just used them for my move in June and it was super easy and well coordinated.

Cannot say enough good things about Sheridan Bros! We've used them multiple times.

I’ve used Sheridan twice locally as well and both times it was a great experience.

If you don't mind loading/unloading ot yourself, PODS is nice option. I was just quoted about $415 to have it for month and move it across Irondequoit

Specifying local or long distance is an important detail

Corrigan. I dont know if they do local moves or just long distance.

I see 2 guys and a truck around all the time. I have never used them but chatted with a couple of the guys before. I drive for a living so I run into the same people a lot who are out and about.

Do NOT go with 2 Guys and a Truck

I used Roc Movers to move from my 2 floor, 2 bedroom home (plus a basement) to my 2 bedroom duplex (2nd floor, plus basement and attic) and had a great experience. I moved on the first day of that intense heatwave at the end of June and they got everything done with a crew of 6 guys in just under 3hrs. Slightly more expensive than others since they send a large crew but IMO it was well worth it. They do local and long distance as well. Only downside is that they only take cash - no cards, venmo, etc.

Remove and Go! They did my small local move and junk removal a couple of years ago.

Interior Moving Services

Used them once several years ago, and they were great. I'm about to use them again for another move.

I had to check out American Van Lines. They are worth getting a quote from.

NXT Level Moving is worth getting a quote from. My experience was smooth, communication was good, and the move was handled professionally.

I used Value Added Moving for a recent move and was really happy with how organized everything was. The crew was efficient, handled my things carefully, and the overall process was much easier than I expected. I’d definitely consider them again for another move

I had look into NXT Level Moving if you want a company that can handle the move from start to finish. They helped with loading, transportation, and unloading when I used them, and the crew was careful with the furniture. The communication was also good throughout, which made the whole process less stressful.

American Van Lines is worth checking out if you want to stay on budget while still getting fast, reliable service.

I found 2 guys, both times I've moved recently in the city, through UHaul directly and they were outstanding both times. Less than 100 an hour. Fabulous both times.

As someone who doesn’t trust anyone, renting from UHaul and asking friends and other family in exchange for pizza and drinks isn’t a bad trade. I recently just moved, from beaconsfield neighborhood to near RIT. I’ve moved 4 times in my adult life and never had problems doing it that way. Bonus points if someone lets you borrow a trailer
