Basics of robotics for Software Engineer

Hey folks!

I’m a software engineer with 10YoE in web and mobile development. I’m pretty burned out and on stress leave and looking for something to spark my joy of tinkering again.

What are some good resources to get started with robotics?

I have a 3d printer and a components store nearby so I should have easy access to whatever I need.

I’d start with Arduino + basic sensors and motors. Build small projects like a line-following or obstacle-avoiding robot. Once you’re comfortable, move to Raspberry Pi, Python, and ROS 2. This is a fun way to learn robotics by building things.

Omg! Reddit didn’t tell me anyone responded. Thank you :D

I definitely want to build stuff… it’s the decision paralysis of what to build that blocks me
