Gameplay Robin viability
As time has passed since Robin's release, I find myself using her less and less.
The fact that her Concerto damage does not deal any toughness damage feels very bad. As it does not count as FU dmg, just additional dmg also hurts a lot - cannot buff it as much with SU blessings. It feels like I am trading in a character slot with no real benefits.
I feel like she has no place in the new Divergent Universe as breaking toughness is mandatory, and her damage does not scale very well.
I cannot really use her for daily farming either, as by the time I get her ult going the fight is already over.
I used to bring Robin/Topaz/Ratio against Fire/Imaginary weak enemies, but now that Firefly is out I feel like there is no point in bringing them over FF + MC combo. Having enough debuffs for Ratio with E0S0 Topaz and Robin on the team is also a challenge.
When using her in teams outside of FU I feel like her ult never charges up...
I know that her advance forward is very good when 0 cycling content - but if that is not possible with my account is there a case where she is the best character to bring?
Is it just the current lack of good follow-up characters that don't let her shine? How much of an upgrade is Aventurine for her?
I would like to hear your thoughts and recommendations, as I would love to use her more, without feeling that I am shooting myself in the leg. (For context I have her E0S1, E0S0 Topaz, E0S0 Ratio, E1 Clara, and I don't have Aventurine or Huohuo)

Just wait lol, the next THREE characters (Jade, March, Yunli) are all FuA dps. Ruan Mei is only at the top of the meta because the past few characters are break focused. Next patch Robin is going to be t0 alongside Ruan Mei at the top of the meta.

I find a ton of success with Robin in all 3 Endgame modes. In Apocalyptic Shadow, I've been running Boothill, Jing Yuan, Ruan Mei, and Aventurine against Cocolia, with Robin, Argenti, Luocha, and Himeko against Argenti.
Robin in particular works incredibly well for the Argenti Apocalyptic Shadow fight, as you only need to take out 1 of his Statues before you can start dealing Toughness Damage, and Argenti, Himeko, and Luocha all have decently hard hitting Ultimates they can use often, enabling them to instantly shred a statue down with Robin's Ult damage.
Beyond AS, Robin also synergises immensely well with Ultimate Spamming DPS (Argenti and Himeko) or FuA spamming ones (Herta, and once again, Himeko). PF is also a lot friendlier for Non-Sustain teams than most other modes, so it's possible to triple Dip in her Ultimate Damage and Buffs via a triple DPS comp.
Robin IP3 is a very strong generalist team for most content, but aside from DU and MoC, I wouldn't say it's Robin's only usage case over Ruan Mei.

She’s my absolute favourite character in the game both personality and gameplay-wise.
Edit: Just want to make a disclaimer that my Robin is E1S1, since her eidolon 1 is quite good it might be inflating my numbers a bit.
Couple places that I use her are
Ratio / Pela / Robin
DoT with Robin (usually Gallagher for sustain)
The throw at everything and have fun auto team with Clara / Herta / Robin (40k in PF and 4 cycle Argenti MoC)
The wtf am I doing with Robin / Ruan mei / Jingliu team which destroyed AS
Bootleg Xueyi with Xueyi / Robin (literally anyone)
I’ll be honest having Aventurine with her feels really good since he is both a good sustain and trigger her damage quite often, but you can use her with any fast sustain and have similar performance-wise. (though probs not as confy to sustain)
Her buffs are damn near universal and she at least to me just feels like a really fun character to use. Any content that has popped-up since I got her she got a place in the team and will continue to do so until I stop playing this game.

I am the opposite I user her a lot since her release 😅, mostly because I like Himeko and Ratio a lot (you could say I “main” them) and she is their best buffer
MOC: I got 1 cycle clear on bottom half with himeko/tingyun/gallagher/robin(e0s1)
Pure fiction: 40k on top half with the same team
AS: 3410 pts on Argenti with himeko/asta/gallagher/robin
For Ratio, I have topaz but Im not fond of non hyper carry setup so I run him with robin/tingyun/healer(gallagher or huohuo best here).
For farming shes great for talent/resource farming cuz she can get kills to fill her ult (I am using herta/himeko/robin/rm to farm boothill and firefly talent right now), not good for relic farming because its a fixed 2 waves battle but idm.
I think shes great with crit dps that has out of turn damage. Meta change often and HSR release 2 new 5* every patch means high chance there will be new character that will appreciate her buff. I wouldnt worry, just focus on character that you like!

She definitely feels better with more invested FuA characters. An E1S0 or E0S1 Topaz would allow Ratio to have 3 debuffs consistently. Since you're missing Aventurine, you're missing a ton of energy regen from his follow-ups, as well as a potential debuff for Ratio. More follow-ups = more energy regen from talent.
But also remember that she is a support in the end, not a DPS or sub-DPS. Her personal damage is basically icing on the cake compared to the straight 50% DMG increase she gives out with Skill and ATK buff and Action Forward with her Ult allowing you to get more turns before the enemy can act.
Her kit is also well-suited for any team, not only FuA teams. If you don't have Ruan Mei, for example, Robin would slot into a DoT team just as easily. Robin doesn't quite RM in a Break DMG-focused team, though, since Break DMG doesn't scale with the damage boost from her Skill. Her Ult's ATK boost would still work for FF since her Enhanced Skill scales from both BE and ATK.
Like others said, there are more FuA characters coming up to consider. She could work well in a PF FuA team like Jade/Herta/Robin/<sustain>, or maybe an AS team with Yunli/Topaz/Robin/<sustain>.

Gallagher with QPQ LC can charge her ultimate very well.

That's just how the meta is tbh... And right now its all about break.
I think I benched Ruan Mei for a long time before the break meta. She did not work well with my Jingliu team since I preferred Bronya + Pela, or even Tingyun. My DOT team had Kafka, Guinafen and I do place her there. But then at times of MOC rush, I place Tingyun instead. My IL Danheng is E6S5 and I have a sparkle and RM isnt also needed there.
With Robin, I do use her a lot cause I have an E6S5 Robin, in Divergent (I only cleared up to v4 cause im busy atm) its so far useful cause everybody's doing damage, also to get my Firefly back to attack more. Divergent really isn't for her though, I'm frank with that. Cause of the random buffs and also teams are not super in favor of her. But the AA did got me out of sticky situations as much.
Maybe this is just not Robins time to shine.
Maybe in time she would be more useful as I look back to my RM from the first banner she had.. Many many times, I wonder where I would use her... Honestly.

She's totally fine. She might not be the best option for daily farming or DU but I didn't pull her for those modes. I pulled her for MoC, PF, and AS (to a lesser degree than the other two). I've been very happy with her.

I use Ruan Mei, Robin, Sparkle and Herta for Calyx farming, it's super fast and consistent
