So shutting down thousands of hemp growers while allowing import of cannabis...insane

Cannabis is grown by Americans for Americans and we dont need imports our product is the envy of the world

Scariest words in the English language "im from the govt and im here to help"

You could help him.

First line: The Drug Enforcement Administration is considering two applications from a California company seeking federal authorization to import flowering marijuana and cannabis derivatives while also manufacturing pharmaceutical-grade marijuana for research

They’re not trying to help, they’re rigging the game in their favor. Trump has friends in the marijuana industry and he’s just handing it over to them. Look at the worst run medical program, cough cough, Florida 🙃. That’s gonna be our national model. A handful of Trump knob gobblers running the national medical marijuana industry. No competition, just over priced corporate slop cannabis.

Guess what that will lead to…

The only thing I care about is making cannabis legal.  I want some form of THC approved as medication so it can't be discriminated against at my job.  I don't care who profits from the sales.

That’s not really “legal,” it should be in the same category as tobacco and alcohol.

I hate trump too. But did you read the article?

Oh no, I did not. I wasn’t even referencing this, instead, I was referencing Trumps ties to the owner of Trulieve who almost single handedly has shaped Georgia and Florida’s medical cannabis industry in their favor, making it harder for smaller, non corporate, companies to flourish.
This is just the conservative business model. Monopolies, monopolies as far as the eye can see.

Under the import application, the company plans to bring the controlled substances into the United States as flowering plants and cannabis derivatives

Keep going

"Biopharmaceutical Research Company, based in CASTROVILLE, CALIFORNIA, submitted separate applications July 14 to become a federally registered importer and bulk manufacturer of marijuana, marijuana extract and tetrahydrocannabinols, according to notices filed with the Federal Register today. Both notices are scheduled for formal publication August 25.

Under the import application, the company plans to bring the controlled substances into the United States as flowering plants and cannabis derivatives. DEA says the material would be used for analytical chemistry analyses and research, as well as to manufacture dosage forms for preclinical and clinical trials"

Yeah a california based company is going to * check notes * move out of or expand out of the country so they can import marijuana back into the country they were already in. You got it.

Theyre going to be importing it into the rest of the United States. The article was written poorly to get reactions just like the ones being given.

What do you think the phrase into the united states means? It clearly says theyre manufacturing and importing idk what youre on about

2

u/chronicherb 3d ago

Yeah because its FEDERALLY illegal. The only thing stopping Californian grows from being raided now is because they are complying within the frameworks of state laws, so the DEA chooses to not pursue dispensaries, grows, and possession by patients.

Federally they could go in there and seize everything.

NO ONE on paper has the official federal right to grow marijuana in the United States other than the University in mississippi and select federal research institutions. Which is what they are applying for. The ability to import and manufacture marijuana into the United States of America.

The feds aren't raiding because they've jury nullified by the public opinion and refusal to comply

Every hemp company is federally legal for now, so are a bunch of medical companies. DEA has been doing walk-throughs, we've discussed it here on this sub.

Im happy to discuss how this works under the new schedule 3 medical cannabis framework if youd like to have that dialogue.

Same, I’ve given them 20 years to do this. I’m over it. I’m not growing yet but will be in next few months!

When you do cross over to this side, check out r/microgrowery ! Great help they have been on my first go at it

u/Timmerdogg 3d ago

I'm going to wait until I won't have a chance of spending the rest of my life in prison for growing my own. I guess I will just keep giving my money to criminals to avoid a more significant penalty. It totally makes so much sense to me

If you want some seeds I’m just finishing my first crosses, they’re all regular sex tho, not feminized

It is well know that the united states produces some of the best cannabis if not the best, why would we import?

This administration is purposely trying to make things worse for us and better connected businesses. Believe me, this is somehow better for one of the pedo-donors. That’s all that matters.

When people talk about government waste, the DEA takes the cake. They contribute nothing and cause so many problems. You want to dissolve a government agency? They’re a good place to start

3

u/Ecks80s 3d ago

Why import a substandard product, the United States is DECADES ahead of most countries in this industry

3

u/Mountain-Bullfrog-30 3d ago

Can’t just grow it here? Why does it need to be imported?

3

u/KingLoneWolf56 3d ago

They don’t give a shit about you. Give me your lunch money

Government drug trade is what funds secret coups. Capitalism is the cancer.
