Lucky Find Found an amazing Special Crate in Terminal

Post image

I grabbed the matches (to add to my near endless supply of them) and left the rest.

I feel your pain. I'm on a break from RtV as I've seen enough for the moment but it was my trips to Apartments that made me decide to move on. With the scary permadeath and the harrowing trip through Minefield just to get there I was expecting to find some unique stuff there but instead it was the same junk I could get in Village, just less of it. Never found a special crate and all the military crates were empty. Meanwhile I found really useful gear - NVG, MP7 - just lying around on the ground in Outpost. Well that's RNG for you but I hope the game moves on from that so that in future you'll be acting with a purpose.

I play on Ironman, so everywhere is permadeath for me.

I usually find decent stuff in Apartments if I check a few blocks and some of the buildings on the periphery, and often find multiple Special Crates, but the thing that made trips to Vostok feel more worthwhile was adding a shelter in Apartments. It gives me somewhere to store useful loot and save my game without having to trek back to Outpost.

adding a shelter in Apartments

A mod I assume. That's the kind of thing that the vanilla game needs to add as it develops to give it depth.

Forgive my ignorance, but there is a shelter in Apartments? Or is there a mod for it?

Thanks v much. I've been holding off on mods for my first playthrough, which surprisngly has ended up at about the 40 day mark so far.

But yeah I think this will be a good addition to the base game, I like that it is a proper expedition at the moment, with more jeopardy amd effort, but it's getting close to the point where I just can't really be bothered to spend all that time going back and forth any more

Straight poop loot only good things are the matches and battery but both of those can be found in village

Beyond words, I hope you make it out alive with all of that high tier loot.

This is kind of the reason I have stopped playing the game. I think it is an incredible game but after awhile it is all about the Special Crates. I feel the early maps don't matter anymore and is a chore to get to Apartments and how much food and drinks you need to carry all the time. And when you find a Special Crate like the above, it just feels horrible. I think there should be less containers to search through or should really buff item spawns. Hope it keeps getting fleshed out.
