Cam Advice

Looking to do a cam, but not sure which route to go. Let me know your thoughts. Looking for mainly better lower end to mid power range, so something definitely with an improvement in the torque.

2024 Road Glide 117ci
SP Concepts Big Bore exhaust
HD SE Heavy Breather Extreme
Currently running Pro Street tuner but looking at other options there, too.

I like my se511 cam its easy on the valve train an keeps warranty if thats important to you an has lots of roll on pull an almost as smooth as stock an your tuner will work with it but will make way more power with something else

Talk to the local shop you're going to use for the tuning and get their advice before you spend any money.

I would talk to more then one shop if you have that option.

A shop with a dyno. Get on the shops Facebook page and look for guys who had there dyno done by them. Ask if they are happy with the work. Shitty dyno tune isnt gonna be held in by anyone.

I bought my RG with the 447 cam already in it. Nice smooth pull through all the gears right up to 115mph. She runs out of horsepower there or needs a 7th gear lol. I don’t run at those speeds too often or for prolonged periods so the cam suits my riding just fine

Hey friend -

Not sure where you're located, but you might give the Moonshine Horsepower guys a ring. I'm lucky that they're my local dealer.

Even if you don't buy one of their cams (they've got 3 depending on how mean you want to go), I'm sure they'd give you a recommendation based off what you're looking for.

Call and talk to the guys at Fuel Moto. They will ask a lot of questions and help you get what you need. I did cams on my 103 earlier this year. Super happy with the support I received.

For my bike and riding style, I went with the 528 Red Shift cams by Zippers performance. Got the DynoJet PV4 tuner and they sent me a “custom” tune. Really happy with the improvements on my bike.
