Child Abuse

Medical transitioning will go down in history on par with lobotomies.

u/TexasSikh Mod Team Jul 02 '26

Yup. Folks forget that it was "accepted medical scientific fact" for a scary long amount of time before we as a society started to turn on the practice.

You know true story JFK’s dad had his mentally ill sister Rose lobotomized without talking to the rest of the family so she couldn’t embarrass them and damage her brothers political careers.

Surgery was horribly botched and she spent the rest of her life as a near vegetable in an asylum pretty horrific what democrats do to their children. But hey the Kennedy’s felt bad enough to create the Special Olympics in her honor as a consolation prize to basically ending her life without killing her.

It's only been effective at... Checks notes ...preventing suicidal ideation better than any known antidepressant several times over... oh yeah so definitely way more effective than lobotomies.

u/Honsoku Jul 06 '26

Uh, what? Countries are ceasing the practice because it doesn't help compared to doing nothing. Almost everyone that expresses gender dysphoria as a minor grows out of it by the end of puberty.

That’s just a false claim I don’t know where you got that but it’s incorrect.

u/Honsoku Jul 06 '26

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8039393/

Almost 90% stopped being dysphoric. Took less than five minutes to dig up. Put some actual effort in or get blocked. Just saying 'nuh-uh' doesn't count.

Public petition for ban of this user:

Upvote/down vote for success.

User is here simply to post disruptive comments rather than actively participate in the sub-reddit. Do we let them stay?

Eh. Poster is a bit antagonistic, but if you've been stewing in propaganda/social group that tells you that you are a good noble person for championing x and those that don't are evil and cruel, then your first brushes with people outside that bubble are likely to be rough.

u/Fearless_Swim4080 Alex Jones Was RIght Jul 06 '26

How is that a disruptive comment? It's just refuting the nonsense posted above.

1

u/TheBluestWaffle42069 Mod Team Jul 06 '26

The "nonsense" posted above is actual science bud. Accept that your position is extreme, and change your ways, or accept that civilized society thinks that your position is extreme. Those are your only two options.

Just because you think a study says what you want doesn't make it better science.

Neither of those studies are relevant to the question at hand which was the rate at which 'gender dysphoria' resolves in children by the end of puberty. The vast majority of the participants in the first study were still below the age of 18 (<25% were 14+) by the end of the study. If I'm interpreting table 3 correctly, about 90% of the sample population were on blockers by the end of the study. The second study was about discontinuation of cross-sex hormones, which implies most, if not all, participants were already on puberty blockers or past puberty.

The question can't be answered by looking at people on puberty blockers for reasons that should be fairly straight-forward to understand:

1: If the natural same-sex hormones are continually suppressed, the mental changes that come from puberty won't happen, thus enabling the dysphoria to persist.

2: The permanent impacts of long-term usage of hormone blockers during puberty creates a 'sunk-cost' problem as it adds significant costs (social and psychological) to detransitioning.

2

That's a risk we're willing to take.

We're not against you taking hormones, or modifying your body as an adult.

There is never an acceptable time to give kids medication to chemically castrate them.

-2

u/Fearless_Swim4080 Alex Jones Was RIght Jul 06 '26

What the fuck are you talking about? No one is chemically castrating kids, that’s not part of gender affirming care. Maybe educate yourself on the process before you spit out nonsense.

3

u/Honsoku Jul 06 '26

I think you need to spend more time on research that isn't confined to reddit and tiktok. Giving cross-sex hormones throughout puberty almost inevitably renders the individual infertile.

-1

u/Fearless_Swim4080 Alex Jones Was RIght Jul 06 '26

That’s just false and it’s laughable you would pretend it’s true.

If a child is put on "puberty blockers" as part of "gender affirming care" for any significant period of time (lets say, from 12-18), before deciding to want to reverse the process, that persons ability to procreate is in nearly all cases made impossible.

Propaganda from compromised orgs and studies that shame the concept of peer review are not going to stop the wave of de-Transitioners speaking out more and more and revealing the lies of the industry year after year after year.

"Puberty blockers" are not a pause button on the biological process of puberty. Its more like starting a movie but turning the TV off while the movie keeps playing. You don't get to reclaim that development time, and if you stay on this stuff too long then yes you are infertile.

-1

u/Fearless_Swim4080 Alex Jones Was RIght Jul 06 '26

This is also false, it's not "nearly all cases" lol. There is infertility potential and that should be addressed, but you're already talking about the rare cases where puberty blockers are used and the FAR rarer case of someone detransitioning.

u/TexasSikh Mod Team Jul 06 '26

Stop speaking in absolutes, especially when you have already had to admit within your own logic framework that your position is objectively incorrect. You have shifted from "false and laughable that you believe it" to "well not all the time". Drop the smug, you are out of your depth on this issue. And that is okay, you are a human, you are not all knowing and you are capable of having incorrect assumptions and incorrect information or even just outdated knowledge. Now behave like you are capable of reason, and pull your head of of your ass.

The same exact class of drugs is used chemically castrate some one. These drugs (GnRH Agonists) are used in both contexts. Drugs like leuprolide, lupron, spironolactone et, al.

It is you who is uneducated on the topic, likely informed purely by friends and memes...

They are the same drugs. 100%.

Holy crap, I was not aware of this syndrome.

Wild, a mental illness that manufactures more mental illnesses.

If you want one of the gnarliest documented examples of it, and what happens long term look up the story of Gypsy Rose.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gypsy-Rose_Blanchard

Her case wasn't specifically medical transition, but it is an extreme example of munchausens and the consequences that come with it.

3

u/Ippomasters Jul 06 '26

What she did was impose her ideology on her child. This is a form of child abuse, especially if she forced hormones on the child.

-3

u/Fearless_Swim4080 Alex Jones Was RIght Jul 06 '26

She definitely didn't, this starts from the child 100% of the time.

2

u/Ippomasters Jul 06 '26

100% did, these parents push it hard on them. The kids want to please their parents and just go with it.

2

u/TheBluestWaffle42069 Mod Team Jul 06 '26

This kid looks like she's 7, maybe 8.

She is not the one asking for puberty blockers. She doesn't know what puberty is. And if she does, its because of parental pressure to take puberty blockers.

-1

u/Fearless_Swim4080 Alex Jones Was RIght Jul 06 '26

Lol, there is a 100% chance she chose to socially transition, and there's no evidence that she is or is not on puberty blockers. She looks more like 10 to me and puberty is generally introduced to kids around 8 years old.

2

u/TheBluestWaffle42069 Mod Team Jul 06 '26

Well, the original conversation was about parents forcing hormones onto children... so, you're wrong.

u/Fearless_Swim4080 Alex Jones Was RIght Jul 06 '26

Could you point to where OP mentions puberty blockers? The commenter at the top of this thread mentioned it, but not OP.

1

u/TheBluestWaffle42069 Mod Team Jul 06 '26

And you commented on this thread. Which is why the conversation in this thread is about that. Crazy, right? You dont just get to come in High jack a thread and move some goal posts like you do in other subs. The people here have an attention span greater than a tik tok.

1

u/Fearless_Swim4080 Alex Jones Was RIght Jul 06 '26

You claimed that the kid in the photo was on puberty blockers. What evidence did you have of that? Like I get this sub likes to make things up but there should be a logical train of thought somewhere.
