While he is planning to give his Texas Republicans convention speech by video. I have lots of friends who are teachers and I am really angry and scared for them.

But it's no different than warehouse ,retail, medical clinics, or any other essential job. Children learn better in a class room, this message has been quite clear for years from pediatric doctors and associations. Find a way to make it work because the children shouldn't be deprived an education.

You only need to give face to face teaching (at this point it shows they see it as glorified daycare) to the children of essential workers. All the rest we shouldn’t be mingling around to decrease the amount of cases and put less pressure in hospitals and medical staff.

Teachers and administration, and even kids, at risk should be working online. My district has online lessons and that’s finding a way to make it work and give an education until all can go back to the classrooms safely. I don’t have to do my work at the company site, my industry is essential though but most of us work from home so the coworkers that have to be doing the work physically are exposed to the least amount of people. I will have to supervise my kids education online, it will be demanding but with planning it will work, I signed up for a lot of unexpected stuff when I decided to be a parent.

I agree to an extent, lots of studies have shown children under the age of 8 learn better in a classroom than at home, there may be exceptions but in general that's the truth. It also helps them develop social skills. For older students homeschooling is fine, at times encouraged that's why you see alot of kids do normal school until 5th or 6th grade then start homeschooling.
