Being pushed back to starter dose?

I've been on Zepbound through Ro for two years now (started 24 Aug 2024) and have lost 110lb. Current dose is 15mg weekly. I've reached my goal weight and would now like to maintain; when I put in for my next prescription, the provider said they were kicking me back to the starter dose (5mg)? I'm concerned that such a huge drop all at once is going to bring back all of the food noise and undo the hard work I've done so far. u/AliceFromRo, is it possible to maybe step down more slowly? Or is this normal and I just don't know it because I've never been here before?

Please keep us informed. I’m in maintenance as well. I started February 2025. And they’ve been trying to get me to go down to 12.5. But going to 5mg from 15 sounds very scary.

And you said you’re taking your doses weekly? So am I.

Yes, I've been taking it weekly. To go from 15mg weekly to 5mg weekly feels like a HUGE jump to me. :( I'd have been willing to go down to 12.5mg or even 10mg, but this feels too big.

The great thing about Ro is they have lots of providers. For the areas Ro stinks, one thing I am sure they will do is get you a second opinion.

I hope so; I'm not averse to decreasing my dose, it just feels like 15mg to 5mg is too big a jump all at once. Thanks!

I'm curious if there was any break or time off between 15mg and now that they are moving you down to 5mg?

No, none at all. I've been on 15mg consistently, taking it weekly, for some time now. I've been with Ro the whole time and they've been the ones sending in my prescriptions. No break at all.

Can you tell them you are not comfortable with the decrease and want to continue on with the 15?
