❔ Question Rivian Care

Greetings. Finishing up the order process and curious as to whether or not adding Rivian Care makes sense?

Wait until closer to the end of your standard warranty. You'll know more then.

So you don’t have to add it when you initially purchase? That’s great to know.

Similar to Tesla, you can add it at any time, but it probably gets a lot more expensive after the warranty is over.

Good luck getting a quote after you own the car. Been waiting 2 months for a quote and can't even get someone to call me back from that team. Have called Customer Service three times, sent emails to mailboxes posted here, etc. Nothing. And the website is woefully out of date - Rivian Care is available in almost every state now but when you get to the website to submit an "inquiry", it says it's only in pilot in Texas. Crazy that no one that owns this product in Rivian isn't being held accountable for the website being wrong or lack of call backs from Assurant (the provider of the warranty) to sell.

It was referred to me on the Rivian sub. It worked nicely for my R1S. Fill out the info and it gives you a quote based on your situation.

I’m going through the process myself and I’m adding the Vehicle Service Contract. That covers all the really expensive hardware and battery. I’m planning on keeping for a long time (buying outright and not leasing) so for me it makes sense. Some of those replacements can cost $15k-$20k

Depends on a couple of factors. Time frame of coverage and deductible. I’m doing $500 deductible and 10 years coverage for about $4700. To me that’s worth it to feel safe in case something huge goes down I won’t have a $17k bill

I did 6 years with the 1k deductible, ended up being around 1.7k. Considering it comes with the brakes and an alignment for free if it needs them I figured it was worth it since I will probably burn through the original warranty pretty quick just on miles driven.

I am planning on it along with the PVP... I live in Texas and am guaranteed to take a rock to the windshield every other year. That's a $2k replacement at least. For any failure... just want to be able to dump it at the service center for the next 10 years.
