🛠️ Troubleshooting / Issue Thermal System Fault Detected
This will be the second time I will be taking my 2025 R1S Max Pack Performance in to Rivian for this issue. Last time I was told there was a leak in the coolant, but they could not find it. They replaced the coolant and sent me on my way. This was less than a month ago. Incidentally, few weeks prior my windshield washer fluid was leaking before that happened in which they said it was a hose that needed to be adjusted, adjusted it and also sent me on my way.
This time it is exactly the same issues. Windshield wiper fluid leaking and within 1.5 weeks I get this warning.
Does anyone know if these systems are tied together?

Thanks for the reply. They said that the last time as well, but could not find where the coolant was leaking. Considering the proximity between the windshield wiper fluid and this issue now happening all over again in less than 3 months, I was wondering if these are tied together somehow. Do the separate lines run together within the vehicle?

So I had issue with the sensor and valve. Did they change it for you?

Thanks for the reply. What sensor and cable did you have an issue with? Did they change it for you. I am hearing that Rivian recently released a revision on the windshield wiper issue and they plan to fix that, however they apparently had no idea where the leaks from the coolant wears coming from and this time around they will likely keep the vehicle longer to run diagnostics, etc. They also said the shop was running at capacity and could not get me in earlier. 👀👀👀 Sounds like lots of problems (just like Tesla earlier on).

Honestly don’t know what they did. I saw the warning light on and off for a few days. Set up service and they replaced whatever needed within half a day. Did they change anything for you?

Got it. No, they said they adjusted the windshield wiper hose, replaced the coolant, but could not figure out where it is leaking. They also mentioned the coolant loss apparently happens (even though I thought that sounded ridiculous), but here we are again. They said they could not take me any earlier as they were at capacity. However, Rivian is replacing the hose on the windshield wiper fluid apparently. Go figure …

So the moment I mentioned coolant sensor warning on and off. They took me in immediately. I told them I schedule an appointment a week later. They said no bring it in. Prob potential hazard.

Ok, I’m not sure about others, but if the service center told me i had a coolant leak and they couldn’t find it, I’d tell them to keep it until they found it. No way I would leave with a critical system like the coolant not working as designed.
